We were given an address. This was for one of their properties. There are at least four. We were not told which one we were staying in. Every door is locked at every property. There is NO staff on site to help. We sat on the front steps of the address we were given for 45 minutes attempting to log in with Direct Key. After six tries with six different passcodes, we were finally able to open the front door. It was only then we discovered we were in another building. Where was it? We had no other address.
I had attempted to check in beforehand but the only options I was given were early check-in (for a charge or late check out, also for a charge).
We spoke to six other couples and all six had trouble getting into their room.
One gentleman told us he did not wish to use his phone to get into his room, so had to drive to some warehouse to get a key.
We were there for two nights. WiFi stopped altogether after 24 hours.
There was a coffee machine, but no breakfast.
Apalachicola is a lovely town, but our lodging experience was not good.

酒店回复: Thank you for sharing your feedback. We work very hard to ensure our guests have clear and thorough communication before arrival, during their stay, and at checkout. We understand that your experience was less than ideal, and I’d like to clarify a few things. As you booked through a third party, our website clearly outlines that we do not have a front desk and that our guests will use a keyless entry system. We also utilize a secure communication platform to provide guests with essential information, such as the registration form, ID verification, and payment processing. We sent the address, parking instructions, the correct door to use, and directions to your room.Unfortunately, it seems this information was not fully reviewed, which sometimes happens. While I understand your frustration, it’s important to note that we do provide all of this information in advance, and we ask that guests take a moment to review it for a smoother experience.Regarding the difficulty you encountered accessing the building, we’re looking into ways to make the entry process even more straightforward in the future, though I’m glad to hear you were eventually able to get in.We also understand your frustration with the breakfast situation and the additional charges for early check-in or late checkout. We aim to be transparent about these options in advance to help guests make the best decisions for their stay.We appreciate your feedback and will continue to work on improving our communication to ensure future guests have a more seamless experience.Despite these challenges, I hope you were still able to enjoy the charm of Apalachicola.

Very private, quiet, nice staff that I met there, could be a little more clean versus just tidy but overall I would stay here again.

I love staying in old buildings, like this one. Just remember there's no elevator. You'll be climbing stairs. But it will be worth it!

We really enjoyed it for what it is. Its an old house and we just needed a room and bathroom for our stay.

The property is a historic building. Unfortunately my room was built unhistorically next to the only road into town. So, literally the windows rumbled when a vehicle shot past! Even with shades drawn the headlights from vehicles created shadows in the room at night.
I got no sleep. And the king bed being so soft, sank as if it were going to touch the floor. A better mattress would have helped. There were plenty of pillows which I used for back support and to drown out the street noise!
As far as the cleanliness goes, I hate to see dust on lamp shades and the floor.
Generally being an older bed and breakfast place, I can let things slide. Broken knobs on the jacuzzi tub, and plumbers glue on faucets are a turn off. Very little quality maintenance is being done here.
Despite the poor water pressure, the shower was clean! Kudos to the cleaning staff for the shower.
Overall, I can’t rate the property, and be fair. I just wish the owners would give a traveler a good faith notice like this room is discounted as it is positioned close to the main traffic coming into town.
Regards

Average stay in Apalachicola.
Coombs Inn has one foot in the past while using modern amenities. Mixed results, but an average stay in Apalachicola. Staff was very helpful, but check in was spotty. Thanks to Jarred, it ended up okay. Just don’t expect a modern experience. Digital keys were a disaster. Grounds were in need of some work.

I preferred 2 drive 6 Hours Back Home and not stay
Rating: ★☆☆☆☆
This was hands down one of the worst lodging experiences we’ve ever had.
The place felt like an abandoned ghost town — not a single guest, no staff, no service. “Luxury” is a complete lie. The photos online are extremely misleading. Self check-in = no one to help you. The bedroom looked nothing like advertised, and when my spouse went into the bathroom, the bathtub was stained with awful rust. The kitchenette was dirty, the trash can was full, and one of the sofas downstairs had a broken armrest.
I’m a disabled military veteran, and this property had zero accommodations for accessibility. When I called and spoke with Jared, the representative admitted it wasn’t right and said they’d approve a refund. But when ********** followed up, the manager suddenly denied it — forcing me to go through my bank to dispute the charge.
A total scam. If you’re looking for an isolated, uncomfortable, and completely unsupported experience, this place will deliver. Otherwise, stay far, far away.
