The property is well kept by folks that have been tending it for decades and it shows! The home itself is amazingly cozy and beautiful. The porch and the outdoor garden area are as beatific as the 170 year old home. Plenty of places to eat and drink that are walking distance from the property. The complementary breakfasts are something to behold. The food is made lovingly and with fresh ingredients. Waking to the smell of homemade crepes brought me so much comfort and joy during my brief stay. Louise and Fredrick are homely caretakers and kind to the stars and back.

Louise, our host, was lovely! She was so attentive with our needs and the breakfasts were delicious! Our room was clean, had everything we needed and the bed was comfortable. The house is very charming and decorated by Louise with love and care. We already miss you and Sweppy! When we return to Montreal we will definitely book again! Thank you so much for making our trip so memorable!

LOVED my stay here. I’d choose this place over any fancy hotel any day. Louise (spelling?) was so nice and accommodating. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious. Again, Louise made sure there were options for my 2 year old. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay. We look forward to visiting again in the future!

Charming old stone storybook house, sweet and friendly proprietors. It has the feel of a youth hostel, with a little outside garden, piano, shared bath and kitchen access. You get to old town via a walk and metro ride, and it's just fine if you are not in a rush. The vieux neigborhood surrounding the 'refuge' is interesting and there's a walking path nearby where you can see all the people who live here walking their dogs and so on....delightful!
