Great except for beds
Stayed in twin room at The Derwent. Mattresses need throwing out. Full of old creaky springs. Not fit for purpose. Housekeeping fitted mattress toppers on request which made beds useable but not good.
Communal areas and pool lovely. Clean rooms.

Feel you must review your fire evacuation procedures. I was on 3rd floor when alarm went off and must say there was no way I was able to exit via the stairs. The stairs from top to bottom were chic a bloc with very old people who could not get down the very steep and narrow stairs. Maybe all guests who have trouble using stairs should be allocated ground floor rooms.

We also have procedures in place for any vulnerable guests to register with our reception team, if they feel that they may need assistance during an evacuation. Guests registered as disabled are allocated rooms on the lower floors and we provide signs that guests can hang on the outer handle, for staff and fire fighters to easily identify where a vulnerable person may be.Each room has a fire evacuation plan on the rear of the door, showing each guest the nearest fire exit for them to use in the event of an evacuation. Unfortunately, people do tend to follow the main entrance/exit that they used to get to their room, as this is the route they are familiar with. Staff assisting with the evacuation will encourage and direct guests to the nearest exit.

A lot of noise from the corridor, next door rooms, and traffic outside (due to very poor insulation, people and traffic all behaved normally). Extremely smelly bathroom, with a bathroom door that couldn't close. So combined this was rather uncomfortable. Did not feel comfortable enough to even go near the pool facilities. I'd probably have left if I would have needed the room from more than a short night.
The decor is tired and the room was quite small, but with better insulation that wouldn't have mattered so much.

Loved the stay
Loved the stay. Room was good, spacious and warm. Bathroom was clean and nice water flow. The swimming pool and Jacuzzi were a great fun. Food was enjoyable at the restaurant too.

很棒的酒店，房间和泳池区都很可爱！我们是在半学期开始的周末去的，所以有很多家庭和孩子。我听说如果不想周围都是孩子，工作日去会更好，但对我们来说这不是问题。酒店非常大，周围设施也很齐全。位置也很棒，靠近海滩、公园，离镇中心也在步行距离之内。我们非常享受在这里的住宿时光 :)
