I was in the Yorkshire Dales for 5 days, and the owner of this Hostel made it very memorable. He is so kind and accommodating. I didn't have a ride to work one day, so he took me there and dropped me off. He always made sure I had everything I needed. He even made sure that I made it to Northallerton in time to catch my train. Such a kind soul. The hostel itself is charming too. The options for breakfast are amazing and fresh. The common areas are inviting and comfortable. The bunk rooms are cozy and clean. The bathrooms were always tended to and spotless. The people that I met while staying there were very friendly and always interested in my day at work upon returning. If you're staying in Hawes, stay here! You will not regret it.

酒店回复: Hi Keira Thank you for a kind review. You’ve encapsulated our ethos and it’s lovely to know that it has been recognised as alive and well at our hostel. It means a lot and myself and all the staff are very grateful.

Despite the hostel being exceptionally busy, we received amazing service from 'Mushroom' Steve. He's a great lad and really looked after us during our stay. Dave was also very friendly and helpful. We ordered food one night and that was tasty and plentiful. My only grumble would be regarding the location of tents which seemed to surround the hostel. I appreciate that it's not a massive site and that revenues need to be maximised, but it did feel slightly odd.

We were looking forward to staying here after reading previous reviews. We were welcomed by a nice chap at reception, but were disappointed that no evening food was available as the manager was away. After a hot day in the sun with 3 kids we weren't planning on heading out again. The chap on reception recommended The Pantry in Hawes, which was great & met our needs. The room felt small for 5 people & a bit jaded, headboard on the double bed was wobbly & the mattress on the single bed was mouldy, & with men camping right outside both windows it didn't feel very private. The toilets & communal spaces were all good. The shower light was very dim, could hardly see. We didn't try the breakfast as no continental available. It seemed expensive for what we got, compared with other hostels on our trip.

酒店回复: Pointing out practicalities is always a help. We’re off on a lightbulb changing, mattress removing and headboard stabilising mission today. Pointing out things that seem totally acceptable leaves us in the ‘beg to differ’ section. Hey ho, all opinions are respected here

We found the hostel at Hawes to be clean and tidy with pleasant and helpful staff. The location is handy for walking into town. The car park was small and busy but you can park on the road outside. There is a shared kitchen which did get a bit crowded but was well equipped and cleaned daily, a sociable lounge with great views, a dinning area and bar with drinks and snacks available to purchase. The garden had bbqs, seats and table tennis. Breakfast, dinner and packed lunches can be ordered. We sat in the garden and were visited by swallows , martins and lots of butterflies- a bird feeder might be nice. There are visitors camping out in the garden who also use the facilities. The beds were a bit uncomfortable but ok for a night or 2. Guests in tents under the window were quite noisy. Maybe advise them to pitch away from the building? It’s not the hostels fault but we did find some of the people staying a little strange quite a few older single men doing the pennine way alone on a stop off in tents. As a women at the hostel am not sure I felt 100% safe in the shared areas or going the bathrooms at night. There was one guy who seemed to be living and working from the hostel he interrupted our breakfast to lecture us on left wing politics which we did not enjoy. That being said we had a good stay thank you Hostel at Hawes.

We loved our stay at Hostel @ Hawes (YHA). Dave is incredibly welcoming and goes the extra mile to help you feel at home. We stayed while walking the Pennine Way (grateful for a chance to wash our clothes!) and had a restful night sleep, hot shower and 10/10 cooked breakfast in the morning. The place is clean, well looked after and we made a cosy home cooked meal in the kitchen and relax in the common room with considerate other guests. Dave even gave us a lift to Garsdale station in the morning which we were incredibly grateful for.

We stayed at YHA Hawes for new year and it was amazing. The facilities are perfect for a large group with loads of kids. Plenty of space for everyone and the kitchen is perfect for cooking in large quantities. We'll definitely be back, maybe in the summer so we can explire the village.

We had a lovely stay in Hawes Hostel with our two and five year old boys. The hosts were really welcoming and informative, making sure that we had everything we needed. Our room was clean and spacious (enough room for a travel cot in the 6 person family room) and the kitchen was really well equipped with plenty of room in the fridges/for storage. The hostel was quiet at night and the bathrooms were clean. There is a handy footpath that takes you over a few fields at the back and pops out at the Wensleydale Creamery. I left my trainers in the room and Dave contacted me to let me know and even posted them back to me the following day!
