My friend had just picked me up at the local bus stop after a 6 hour ride. We were looking for lunch/dinner before another 1.5 hour drive to Blue Hill. Drove by. Saw the sign for meal service and decided to try it. What a GEM it is. Absolutely delicious food, veggies not overcooked, great service, charming atmosphere. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time.

We are locals and visited the Tavern recently. The empty parking lot should have clued us in but we remained optimistic. Believe me when I tell you to eat elsewhere; there are a number of better choices in the area. We were served seriously overcooked empanadas, charred (not in a good way) brussel sprouts, a lackluster Caesar salad with stale croutons and a burger that was passable but far from delicious. Our server disappeared for long periods of time. There was $5/head cover charge for the “music” which the owner apparently thinks adds to the atmosphere; we disagree. We would love to find a local pub to be our regular hangout. This, alas, is not it.

The restaurant food was very good and the servers were very friendly. The room was overpriced at $410/night…very small and was over the restaurant. The music was loud in our room. The side entrance had no railings up the steps, which is problematic for older people. The ramp was very steep and was not an option. There were extra charges for the live band and breakfast. The “partial” ocean view was not accurate. It doesn’t exist from the room we had.

Our stay was wonderful. The room was clean, cool, and spacious, as we entered after our long day of travel. The bed was comfortable and we slept great both nights. The shared bathroom was clean and easily accessible from our upstairs room. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The proprietress served us breakfast, and it was delicious. I would recommend this as a stay near to Acadia NP.

Stopped at The Tavern twice for dinner while traveling on vacation. Great food!! Enjoyed the regular dinner menu and pub menu. Food was gourmet quality and very reasonable. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Wish this place was in our hometown! The tavern atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable with a bar area along with 2 separate dining areas. We were fortunate to be there on an evening when live entertainment was provided, which was very good and not intrusive. Happy to pay $5 per person cover for a fun night! We’re still talking about how delicious our meals were…great burgers, corn chowder with shrimp and crawfish, fresh linguine with maple glazed salmon and mango chutney, yummm!

Lovely old inn and tavern. Lots of little extras provided, like distilled water for the coffee maker. The breakfasts were delicious. Housekeeping came daily. Close to town and Sears Island, where you could stroll on the beach or do some hiking. Highly recommended!

Sad. We've been here several times. It has good food and excellent service. However, the last time we were there the owner added a five dollar per table service charge for their live music. Why is that a problem. If you chose to sit in the tavern and wish to listen the music it is not. However, when you sit in the diningroom you cannot hear the music. Yet he still wants to charge you five dollars per table. If you go during lunch, there is no charge because there is no music. Unfortunately, that menu does not include some items we truly enjoy. As I said, sad...

酒店回复: Thank you so very much for your patronage. I recall our conversation during your last visit to the Homeport Tavern in late April. You had not been in since we had implemented our $5 cover for music in October of 2024. I actually waived the fee for you out of respect. The cover fee is posted on our front entrance on the front cover of our menu. We support the live arts and have live entertainment every night of the week. In order to do this we cover musicians' fees and are obligated to pay multiple entertainment licensing fees. The volume of music in our dining room is very clearly heard however, in the background of the dining experience as to if seated in the Pub area, directly in front of the bands. The Homeport Tavern brings a unique experience combined with great service and a wonderfully executed menu. Many Thanks Again, Arnaud Lessard, Owner
