My wife & I booked three nights on Valentine's Day weekend @ Bayberry's Garrett House property, and we were the only occupants for those nights while trying to protect ourselves from rain & freezing rain & snowfall. We took the opportunity to roam around the guest spaces, and were both very impressed by the Victorian-style architectural features & decor. We didn't see the owner Scott until we were finishing our final breakfast, but we had the time before departure to chat and learn more about the painstaking efforts of the original decorator (a good friend of Scott's since passed) to recreate the historical atmosphere of the lovely c. 1870 residence. Scott keeps the house clean with no clutter, maintaining elegance throughout with a comfort that made our stay a very memorable one. We stayed in Francesca's Suite (Room 1) at the top of the front stairs, beautifully furnished with unique period-appropriate pieces and plenty of room to walk around & relax in. The attached dressing room was an unexpected bonus, and the large ensuite with separate Jacuzzi tub & shower booth was very much appreciated. Each morning's serve-yourself breakfast offering (prepared daily) was unique & flavorful, with fresh high quality ingredients and enough volume to fill us up for each of our days of exploring the surrounding area. We would definitely return if we were visiting Eastern Ohio or Western PA, and we recommend the Garrett House for other travelers who would appreciate the property's history & decor while enjoying the modern comforts & tasty breakfasts.

My teens and I stayed in Bayberry House before Thanksgiving. We were picking up one student for Thanksgiving break at Franciscan University, and bringing one for a college visit. Because of everything going on, we made up our schedule as went. Scott was very accommodating and adapted to our needs in terms of arrival time, cots, numbers at breakfast, etc. He could not have been more obliging. The house in beautiful. We came home every night to a cozy home, and woke up to hot breakfast. It's just a mile or two from the University, so it's very convenient and competitively priced to the hotels in town (but so much nicer!).

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this charming B&B. From the moment we arrived, everything felt effortless—check-in was smooth and parking was easy. The property itself is beautifully decorated with exquisite taste, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout.

Our room was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully arranged for comfort. The owner was incredibly kind and helpful, especially when we asked for dining recommendations.

Breakfast each morning was a delight: fresh, delicious, and clearly made with care. It’s rare to find a place that feels both luxurious and homey, but this B&B strikes that perfect balance.

We’re already planning our next visit. It’s officially our new favorite spot in Steubenville!

Quaint and quiet

The room was comfortable, and the neighborhood quiet. The breakfast was not very elaborate; they could have offered more food items like fruit or pastries.

Very clean and easy checking in and out. Very elegantly furnished. Only complaint is that breakfast choices were very limited and it was very pricey for the room size and meal offered.

Loved my stay at this hidden gem! Scott was great, very attentive and helpful. The place is gorgeous, lots of history and decore. The breakfasts were spectacular as well, especially the Caramel French Toast: WOW! Will definitely stay here again if Im in the area.
