Wow! Wow! Wow! Just returned from a week skiing as a group of 15. Where do I start! On arrival the huge amount of snow made the transfer 7hrs long but the reps and coach driver did their best and no complaints. On arrival we had a warm welcome from Jo and the team.. friendly, kind and caring a smooth check in to lovely rooms with the most outstanding mountain views we have ever had!! Clean, large rooms well equipped... very warm! We slept with the doors open and heating off.. hair dryer no kettle (brought our own supplies- they gave us cups)... boot room is well situated with ski racks next door. A lovely bar and balcony with more beautiful views ❤️ a huge shout out to Lisa who ran this with ease... food! Set menu each day and u set a time for your table arrival, staff soo very welcoming and gave an alternative for courses, although limited they did their best and the food was simply outstanding and a la carte! Endless bread baskets kept everyone happy as well as drinks and laughter. Slopes! Walk left and 2 minutes threw the car park straight to the grande sure lift... if thats too much turn right and walk down to the cage lift or over the bridge to the express gondola. Cage goes to le signal express to le bergers (centre commercial aka your ski hire shops) shuts at 6 so be quick on collection day or its a 20 minute hike across the village. All in all a beautiful, small, friendly hotel which has all you can want and need. The staff made this place special for us all and we will 100 percent be back... Huge thanks to Jo and Lisa - you 2 gems are worth your weight in gold!! Thank you

The petit prince hotel is on the edge of AdH but it’s a very short walk to the nearest chairlift onto the slopes. The hotel is really comfortable with a great lounge area and bar, rooms spacious and lots of space for luggage. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. Food delicious but portions are too small after a hard days skiing. It would be so easy to offer a bowl of veg and some potatoes/chips with every meal, that would result in a 5* review! I’m also GF and they catered for me well.

I stayed at the Petit Prince with my daughter (16) for a ski trip in Feb half term. We had booked a family room which gave us enough space to spread out a bit. There was enough storage space for the 2 of us but if a family of 5 people were staying in the room you might struggle a bit. We were in room 10 which is under the restaurant, this was a little noisy from 7am when breakfast starts with chairs moving across the floor (ceiling) above us but not too much of a problem as we got up fairly early every day anyway. Breakfast was great, the usual cereals, cold meats, bread, croissants etc and also a small selection of hot food (scrambled eggs, beans and either sausages or bacon) the staff kept the breakfast well stocked up throughout breakfast time. Although we were half board we only ate dinner once in the restaurant as we had friends in a chalet down the road so we ate with them most nights. The dinner menu is available on the reception desk every morning, they have a vegetarian option and also a children's option but these aren't printed, you need to ask for these. The ski hire shop is on site which is a bonus. There is a ski room to store skis overnight and a boot room next door for boots. I haven't skied for 35 years since I was at school so I was a bit worried about how we would get to the slopes - you can turn left up the hill from the car park, walk about 50 metres, through another car park and join on the tail end of a blue run to go downhill to a chairlift (Grand Sure). At the top of the lift is a lovely pink/green run Marcel's Farm which takes you down to Les Jeux, Signal or Pic Blanc, we enjoyed this to get our legs ready for the day. This option of getting to the Grand Sure lift wouldn't be suitable for complete beginners. Another option is to turn right from the car park and walk about 100m downhill to the Telecentre cage lifts (free) which take you to Signal, Les Jeux and Pic Blanc. If you don't use the Telecentre cage lifts you can cross the bridge to the Alpe Express (free) gondola, 2 stops takes you to Bergers where the lessons start from. One day we also took the number 2 bus to Bergers from directly outside of the hotel's car park, we flagged it down to get on. The staff in the hotel were all very helpful and friendly. There is a relaxing lounge with a pool table and table football, I also spotted a few games - jenga, cards etc on a bookshelf. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Alpe D'Huez and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Just returned from a fantastic week skiing with my son (annual trips) and what a fabulous find this hotel was! The hotel has a real 'family run' vibe to it - we met Josephine at reception on arrival and she was just the perfect 'hostess' and representative! Unexpectedly our 'ski hire' was attached to this hotel and managed by the extremely efficient Ida, who ironed out a few minor niggles during our first few days - having ski rental where you are staying is a 10 for me! We stayed half board ad the kitchen produced top quality evening meals, only one choice of starter/main/ desert but...... we tried dishes that wouldn't have chosen from a menu ad it was to our benefit (Cod in an amazing liquor) but by far Wild Boar stew came out tops. Lisa in the bar provided some top quality wine recommendations and was friendly and engaging Something i haven't previously experienced was meeting hotel staff out and about i9 town who took the time to chat ad pass the time of day which for me completed that 'family run vibe' Will i return? 'Yes' without doubt - thank you to everyone who completed our perfect holiday!

Great week at this hotel. Lovely hotel , amazing staff. Ski rental in hotel , chairlift by hotel . One of our party is gluten free and all the evening meals were adapted seamlessly. The staff helped us plan our ski day with us . Nice rooms , beds a bit soft but that’s the only criticism . Highly recommend it - food was the best I’ve had on a crystal half board hotel .

We had a great week here in January 2026. The hotel looks like it has been refurbished internally, and the rooms, whilst not large, are fine for a couple or a singeton. The rooms are always warm and the views from all rooms are simply stunning. There is almost instant hot water, and fast wifi in rooms and public areas. The main plus point, however, are the staff, who are without exception friendly and helpful, with special mentions to Valerio the manager, Josephine on the desk, and Vilma in the restaurant (although all in the restaurant worked hard to keep things flowing). The food was from a set menu, but alternatives are available on request, and while the food was very tasty, I agree with a previous comment that it was rarely piping hot. The portion sizes were fine for me (but I'm a small guy!). I thought the bar prices were reasonable, and the lounge was bery welcoming with comfy furniture and a big open fire. Boot room and ski storage room were fine - only 1 immediate bench available to sit on, but a short walk along the corridor to the main entrance had 3 or 4 large benches available. My only other suggestion would be to provide the rooms with safes. It seems weird that the rooms were refurbished but no safes were installed. Valuables have to be left with reception for storage in the main hotel safe. In summary: a really nice, friendly hotel which is in a quiet location, but can be almost classed as ski out, and ski in with a little effort. Recommended.

We deliberated , looked at reviews, read the indifferent ones… booked, and have spent the best week at one of the best chalet hotels in France we’ve had ! The Food : Excellent , never had a problem with the heat of food, it was delicious, and they cater for you if you don’t like something on the menu ! My wife is a vegetarian, her words ‘ the best menu, catering for me I’ve ever had’! The Restaurant : Lovely size, intimate, enables you to talk to other guests about your day! A small front of house team who excel at what they do! The bar : lovely warm atmosphere, great views, comfy place to relax The rooms: we were in 201 , just the 2 of us, ample size, great use of space using hoots with a modern feel! Bathroom is big. Great warm / hot shower. Views are tremendous! Location: supermarket 4 minute stroll, bars locally, Smithy’s, 8, Cave… we liked strobe in the village. Ski in and out if there’s enough snow ! but only a 2 minute walk to a piste bashed entry point to the sur lift. Overall a lovely stay with friendly staff, it’s a scandinavian hotel chain and as such the team are lovely, friendly and keen to please. I promise you you will not be dissapointed. If you are used to ski hotels, you will know how these operate and how these hotels feel…. this hotel and the team is superb! All we lacked in the week was a fresh dump of snow ! not sure we can blame Crystal or the hotel team for this !

A group of us stayed here a week ago. The hotel is very good, nicely appointed with really friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are on the small side, but plenty of storage including hooks all over the wall and elasticated pockets. There's a comfortable bar, with open fire. You can access the slopes about 100m away, by walking up to the car park and skiing down to the lift. You can also ski back to the carpark, although it does entail some polling and the top of the last piste can get very cut up later in the day. Breakfasts are typical for this type of hotel. Some hot food, plenty of cereals and fresh bread, fruit and yoghurt and meats and cheese. Evening meals are served, with a set menu each night. They will get an alternative if there is something you don't like, but it's best to ask in the morning. Menus are varied and well thought out, and food is very tasty. However, portions are quite small. The biggest problem is that the food is lukewarm, and occasionally cold. Not helped that it is served on cold plates. I did comment on this several times, but there was no improvement over the week. Drinks in the bar are quite expensive, but so is the resort. All in all a very nice place, which would be excellent if they sorted out the food.
