The approach to the hotel was quite pleasant, unfortunately, that's where it ended. The receptionist was not exactly welcoming (barely a greeting and no smile).
When we got to our room we found the bin still full from the previous occupants. We do understand that things can be missed,but when I reported it to reception hardly any reaction was noticeable. When asked for a second time later, she was quite abrupt and said "yes, it WILL get done" with no hint of an apology.
Throughout our stay, we did not see a single member of staff smile or look as though they wanted to be there.
The room was very basic, only 1 socket (behind the kettle), no bedside lights and tatty (torn) wallpaper.
We attended a function and the food was very nice and well presented however the service was a bit slow.

The evening I ate there coincided with a busy wedding reception and as a result there were delays. Not the staffs fault - they were clearly working flat out

This is a good hotel with friendly staff and generally good all round service. Nice bar area thats quiet.
Table waiting could be improved not in the service generally which is very good but attention to detail such as condiments on tables especially when serving things that need them. Some staff ask but others can miss. This is not a big thing and overall i would definitely recommend. Some staff are very good at explaining especially if you have not stayed there before...others make assumptions.

Definitely recommend!!
Beautiful hotel. From walking through car park right to room - everything, everywhere was clean, tidy and really well looked after.
Restaurant serves really good quality food and the staff were fabulous - even though they were really busy with a wedding party.
The room was amazing - lively size, spacious and clean. All facilities (kettle, hairdryer etc) all available and good quality.
