Warm and welcoming Staff, perfectly acceptable rooms with one big flaw, located in a less salubrious area and has the camera and security to prove it. The Staff was great, the place is clean, the rooms are generally comfortable suites. The furniture is, well, dated. The doors lack a guest security lock for when you are present. Parking is minimal, and guests are advised to park within a narrow range that is covered by security cameras and the night guard’s vision. Driving up, one can easily be spooked by the generally condition of the neighborhood.

Only the parking is a problem and the Internet doesn't work properly some part of the room. It work only in the open room not in the bedroom.

Great pre/post Cruise hotel
The hotel was great. Pool was much appreciated. Great local breakfast place within a 2 minute walk and full service, great food restaurant within 7 minute walk, however no sidewalks and sometimes lots of traffic on road to restaurants.
Hotel was clean, well kept and staff very friendly and helpful in arranging tours of the island.
You can walk to Divi Beach, but not pleasant - too hot and again no sidewalks and takes more than 20 minutes to get there if you don’t take a wrong turn in the roundabout!
But for the price, L’Esperance was well worth it especially pre or post cruise, where you will be doing all your beach lounging at your island destinations.

Always a pleasure
Always nice to stay here, Have been staying here for conference weekends for the past 10 years. Staff always gets us what we need and rooms are well equipped for cooking and hanging out after a long day.

We took our friend to the hotel and he had no hot water in his room. Otherwise that I love the hotel as our 1st night in St Marteen before our timeshare starts on Saturday.

I appreciated the spot but you definitely need transportation wherever you stay on St Maarten. The service was ok but there is always room for improvement
