This is the first guest ranch out of 6 that I’ve visited where I can’t wait to come back again next year. Almost 3/4 of the other guests I talked to are frequent visitors with 5 to 30 visits here which really shows how great this place is run. There are so many activities offered for beginner riders, advanced riders, and even non-riders. Several options for shooting, archery, axe throwing and knife throwing. There is also an option for rock climbing, e-biking and hiking. The food has a wonderful variety that will please meat lovers, vegetarians, pescatarians and gluten free diners. The best part is of course their amazing horse program that the owner, Russell True, has set up and perfected. The wranglers are all so hard working, helpful, clear communicating, and friendly! The horses are exceptionally well trained and evaluated for beginners, intermediate or advanced riders. There are 5-8 different rides offered each day including 1-2 hour walking rides with or without mountains, 1-3 hour fast rides including loping, an all day ride through Saguaro NP, breakfast rides, wine and cheese ride, beer and Cheetos ride, riding lessons for building confidence and learning how to trot and lope, team penning, cattle sorting, and a Natural Horsemanship lesson at the obstacle course with a fabulous trainer, Gabe. It really speaks volumes that many of the guests are people who have owned horses in the past. The horses are very well cared for. One of my favorite things was going to the front desk to get the free horse treats for my horse for the week, as well as giving them to horses out in the pasture who come up to the fence to say hi and eat the treats.
