This has to be one of the worst hotel stays we have had. We would have found another hotel but decided we could survive one night. At £50 for the night, no breakfast available, it was overpriced. The only good point was the location. The websites we checked all stated breakfast was available. The problems started when booking. I requested a Deluxe Double Room, I had to repeat this to the booking person a few times before he understood. The room we had when we arrived was a standard room & very small. The guy on the phone really didn't seem to know what rooms were available or the prices & kept saying the hotel was in Slough. The information on various websites is totally out of date and inaccurate. The arrival to book in, no signage to the reception desk so we ended up dragging our luggage through a narrow packed bar. They then wanted us to walk back through the bar to see the exit for the next morning. The other issues as follows: - Piles of bedlinen left on narrow staircase throughout our stay. - No room information provided when checking in or left in the room. Therefore no information about accessing the wifi. Also no details of who to contact or how to contact someone in case of emergency. - Ironing board in room but no iron. - Only 3 mismatched hangers in the very small wardrobe. - The window didn't close properly allowing cold draught & noise in the room. - Sink tap in bathroom couldn't be turned off, the sink plug didn't work & the shower door was broken & ready to fall off. Also the vent did not work & the water was only just warm. - The remote control didn't operate the TV. - Overall the rooms was dusty & dirty. There was also a lot of damage to paintwork. - The tea & coffee making facilities were very poor & included unwrapped, unmarked tea-bags in an open box. - No hairdryer. - Lighting was very poor. - The car park was not secure, any passer-by could just walk into it. - Duvet was too small for the bed. - I had made an online booking for the restaurant, received confirmation but it wasn't recorded by the hotel. Discussed it when we were booking in but it still wasn't noted in their reservations. - Service was slow & the noise levels were extremely high. - Large TV screens in the restaurant area. - No decaffeinated tea or coffee available. - When we left in the morning, we were shown to the exit which opened onto a very muddy path & it was very unclear even where the carpark was. This is one of the worst hotels we have stayed in and will never return. We could not recommend anyone to stay here. It really is a shame that such an historical and wonderfully located property is being ruined.

Visited on August BH Monday for lunch. We had a sizzling platter of Lamb chops, Chicken wings, chicken and Lamb Tikka and minced Lamb Koftas with garlic naan. It was so tasty and filling from the big portion size Loved the potato bhaji, too. Everything cooked to perfection. Barstaff and waiters were extremely helpful and pleasant We have been a few times now and will be back again soon

Having visited The Greyhound Inn today . I felt like crying the Lady behind the bar Maxine was very rude and disrespectful . I asked to speak to the manager and the guy l spoke with said he was the manager . I explained to him that Maxine was rude and disrespectful and he said he was going to talk to her . He never got back to me . During that time people that l was with asked Maxine to give me the Menu and Maxine just passed me and gave the Menu to the person that l was with and the guy had to give me the Menu to me . I asked Maxine for us to have a conversation and she said she was busy and l said when you are done please can we have a chat . She didn’t she just ignored me while talking to everyone else . Maxine was very ****** towards me .

We stayed for two nights in a "deluxe" room and whilst the bed was comfortable and the water hot, the bathroom was very humid with no working extractor and attracted fruit flies. We kept the door closed which helped stop them getting to the bedroom. Massive lovely TV, but no means to turn heating down so on night one we slept without the duvet. Night two we worked out how to open the window so hot air from radiator went straight out the window making room more comfortable. See my review for the restaurant which was far better.

Pub and food nice and staff friendly …. Some areas of bedroom and bathroom very tired and needs TLC…. Only issue was when the pub shut, either staff decided to stay behind or their was a few customers still in as it was after 12am before I could manage to get some sleep due to loud talking

Apparently under new management I booked this as my husband is currently in Harefield Hospital. The room is lovely very clean and pretty. The food is stunning I chose the lamb rogan ‘ authentic style’ and it was stunning. The staff have been welcoming and for this lone female customer having a very difficult time they’ve made all the difference. Excellent. Recommend.

Well what can I say . The place is nice it's a pub . The manager was how can I put him of a know it all . We got there early and ordered food. Food menu needs work . Over priced and needs more on the pub food . Don't get me wrong what we had was lovely in the afternoon. But that part of the menu stopped at 5 . What I don't like is the "room tour" don't mind being shown to my room. But I do mind the manger walking into the room with a woman on her own to show her around. The room is small I'm sure I can find the shower room. My partner was parking the car at this point. Anyways the room. Small to be expected it's a room in a pub . I was clean but why have a heater in the room that can't be used? Also the chair had seen better days and needs to move out of the room . The bedding was clean. But oh my god the worse night's sleep we have ever had . The bed was so uncomfortable. Sack of potatoes would of been more comfy. The pub at night . So after we came back from our day . We was told by the manger that the kitchen shuts at 9pm . That's fine. We order a drink and look at the menu again . Nothing much to go on as the Indian menu looks good but not everyone likes it . We order a pizza and chicken , chips. Just what u get is what u get . Pizza could of been cooked longer. But was to tired and just want to go to our room . What I did observe was the locals in the pub young lads coming out of the loos sniffing with white on there noses .. but again it's a pub. The room we was in was above the outside area it was loud I was not bothered but some ppl would be. Breakfast was just a simple cooked breakfast rather nice. But that's it nothing much else to offer. It is what it is a cheap pub stay over . Needs better beds and a good pub menu and they would really crack it ! If they got new beds and not do the room tour we would use again if down that way .

This place is a disgrace I booked to stay for a funeral which I stated when I booked. I was struggling to get there to pick the key up in time so asked if I could pick it up on my return,no help whatsoever. They then cancelled the booking and gave it to someone else 3 day before the funeral and have kept my deposit. I have now had to miss the funeral due to no availability anywhere else, staff extremely rude and unhelpful, avoid this place, extremely unprofessional!
