We have had a wonderful experience here at The Bell Hotel. We couldn’t have asked for more helpful, willing and personable staff during our stay. The hotel itself felt fresh, clean, modern and homely with some beautiful artwork throughout. I am gluten free and the staff and menu couldn’t be more accommodating for the fact! They even went to buy GF bread at breakfast as they had run out. Fantastic service. With plenty of activities and sites nearby to visit, it’s an ideal town to stay in too. We only stayed for one night but would certainly come again. Thank you to all of the team- it’s been a pleasure!

Although this hotel fitted the bill in many ways (accommodation/breakfast/location etc) sadly we stayed during refurbishment but were not warned of this and were rudely awakened at 7am to banging and crashing in the room above !! After complaining to management several times via phone when home (no management were around the day we left ) we were offered a complimentary afternoon tea … !!! We stayed here o/n to visit a friend and it would mean a 6 hour round trip to return just for tea and cake …. !!!!!

酒店回复: Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your stay was not as restful as you had hoped. We always aim to provide clear communication and a comfortable experience for all our guests. Regarding your concern, our refurbishment work begins at 8:30am, and during your stay no other guests reported disturbances. We investigated your comments thoroughly and followed up personally with you the next day, as our General Manager was not on duty at the time of your departure. As a gesture of goodwill, we offered you a complimentary afternoon tea, which you accepted with appreciation. We regret that this did not meet your expectations, but we remain committed to ensuring fairness and consistency in how we handle guest concerns. We value all feedback, even when it is critical, as it helps us continue to improve while maintaining the standards that many of our guests enjoy. Kind Regards Matthew Croxford Deputy General Manager

Have just returned from a couple of nights at this hotel. Our room was very clean and comfortable and the huge bed was exceptionally comfy and the en-suite, with walk-in shower, was very well equipped. The food was really tasty and though the menu not huge, there was something for everyone. The staff, well what can I say….. lots of hotels have helpful staff, but have to say the lovely staff at The Bell Hotel, went that extra mile. When they realised my favourite flavour of gin was about to run dry and no spares in ‘the back’, Matt went straight round to Tesco, and bought a bottle… plus, on arrival a complimentary cocktail was offered, sadly made with vodka (which according to other guests, was really good) I had to decline because of my intolerance to that particular alcohol. Matt went straight onto Google, found a cocktail made with my gin and served that instead!! Which, I have to say, was lovely and, as he gave me the recipe, will be enjoyed this Christmas - thank you Matt.. Other staff were Sharon, Georgia and Danielle (apologies if I’ve spelt any of those wrong!). They all were extremely helpful, and friendly and made time to chat about local places to visit and things to do. We were blessed with wonderful weather, which can make or break a trip away, but the staff at this Hotel, would have made even the worse of weather seem like merely a hiccup….. A very big Thank You, Anne and Tim

The check in and staff were brilliant, they really couldn’t have been more helpful. The room was really comfortable and clean although a little tired in some areas.
Outside my room was a busy street and an off license that seemed to draw attention from visitors until gone 11:30pm! Drunk and rowdy people stood outside and smashed bottles woke me up on a couple of occasions.

A nice, cosy pub/hotel. A warm welcome and great service throughout our stay; this is a great base to travel around the villages of Suffolk, although if you are planning to spend most of your time along the coast, we would recommend you base yourselves in Southwold.

Not really a hotel, a pub with rooms! We stayed in room 6, for some reason it was incredibly hot although on first view the room was very pleasant. I tried to open the window but was unable to on the first night, managed to do so on the second night, but then there was a lot of road noise! There was a lot of condensation on the window that could not be opened and black mould as well! I mentioned this to the chambermaid who told me she cleaned the mould off every week? And also that because of it being a conservation area double glazing was not allowed. I would have thought that secondary double glazing and air conditioning would be a solution both to the condensation and road noise. In addition the floor of the shower wasn't draining properly. The staff were all very pleasant but I was expecting more for the price we paid!

酒店回复: Good evening Alice, I must begin by extending my sincerest apologies that our hotel didn't meet your expectations. Unfortunate as it is that you didn't enjoy your stay as much as you had envisaged - we are pleased to hear that you found our service to be of satisfaction. Being a Grade II listed Georgian building in the centre of such an active town, a small amount of road noise is likely to filter through to our rooms, unfortunately, as per our listing agreement we can't change our windows to deaden any noise as they are period features and cannot be interfered with in any way, we apologise for this inconvenience. I can, however, assure you we take cleanliness very seriously here at The Bell - regularly cleaning all of our windows and we have made sure that our protocol always allows a deep clean of the windows in frequent & regular intervals. During the Autumn and Winter our rooms have their heaters on as standard before check-in due to cold weather, so if you ever struggle to alter the temperature controls in the room, a duty manager will be on hand to assist you in anyway that you may need, either by adjusting your heater gauge, turning on the floor fan (every room is equipped with) or adjusting the hotel's thermostat to suit the outside temperature. I must reiterate how disappointed we are to learn that you didn't enjoy your stay here at The Bell and fell short of your expectations. If you ever were to visit us again, contact us directly - myself and the rest of the Management Team will be certain to make sure your stay is a far more enjoyable one. My sincerest regards, Callum Peck Deputy General Manager
