Still a great place to stay with a great breakfast! We had booked a Friday night. Due to an accident on the M6 motorway, we were caught in traffic and could not arrive until after 2330 on Friday. We called them but they could not leave us a room key. So, we had to find a hotel at midnight. Suggestion: a YHA should provide a lockbox for late arrivals and send the lockbox code. If someone arrives after the front desk closes, they can go to the lockbox, enter the code, and retrieve their room key. Good to see the place full on a Saturday night; no extra spaces in the car park or in front of the house. Most people drove there, and two groups arrived in KingKabs taxis. Liked the coffee drinks made at the bar. Very bright security lights at the front of the house, preventing people from enjoying the night sky. The rooms are in the garden. Our room was cool during a heatwave. I am six feet tall and found the shower too small. The hot water in the room was hot, ouch! Good to hang outside at the back of the house on the tables.
