The palace has been with the same family for 47 generations! Not luxurious in a modern sense but comfortable, clean and an authentic experience. The staff were warm, welcoming and proud to be working at the hotel. The garden stroll was nice and the local village very welcoming. Very few tourists meant it was a great insight into everyday life. The town though seems to be losing their battle with rubbish. Same issue for the walk to the old palace. Very picturesque and amazing history but not very clean. Overall a great and unique experience. A good choice for groups as a pit stop between Delhi and Jaipur.

Simply awesome experience. This is one of the best heritage property at a reasonable price. Some of pros of this property are: 1) Situated at a peaceful location within 4 hours drive from Delhi. 2) Surrounding view is good. 3) Spacious rooms and nicely maintained front gardens. 4) Ample open space for evening sitting. 5) Nice swimming pool. 6) Excellent hospitality. 8) Good value for money. Some cons, on which owner should work: 1) Swimming pool to be maintained in a more cleaner way. 2) Sports facilities should be increased, TT table should be in AC area and shall be maintained in a clean way. 3) If possible create a gym. Writing historical facts about the palace, pics and place will enhance its value.

"It is done properly". Not a statement that comes easily to mind in India where almost nothing is done well except the food. But here I can say it with confidence. Everywhere we look there are signs of forethought and care. The furniture is very high quality and matching. For example the beds have beautiful glazed, fired tiles set into them, these are seen in most of the furnishings and in every setting. The beds are comfortable too. The glass in all the handles is cut lead crystal like the chandelier. The marble is beautifully designed laid an maintained with no cracks. The pool is quite possibly the poshest I have seen with hand carved elephant heads spouting water, they all work and the water is crystal Clean. The view is spectacular even in summer when there's a lot of dust in the air. This is a feeling of history just lounging around, but as this was a Maharajah' s palace that's hardly surprising. The staff are wonderful and The service is 5 star. The food is better than Lucknow

This superb Heritage Hotel was built as a Maharaj’s Palace 200 years ago. Tastefully restored its grandiose architecture speaks of a past opulent lifestyle we can again enjoy as guests today. Rattan and his team expertly ensure comfort and delicious sustenance in this oasis of calm. Through its magnificent double-doors, my suite, nay apartment, had every convenience. Situated in the countryside on the edge of the small town of Patan, it offers a tranquil break from the teeming city.

very authentic hotel - former palace of the maharaja. Staying there you plunge into the spirit of old India. Monkeys run ***** the walls, atmospheric dinner by candlelight, large and comfortable rooms. For entertainment you can walk up the mountain to the ruined buildings and the fort. I really enjoyed the experience of staying here.

Had a comfortable stay in patan mahal drive is fine from delhi rooms are awesome ratan is very well behaved and resourceful few issues 1) bath linen very uncomfortable. Bath products very inferior quality. 2) being forced to only opt for buffets in the meals, very overpriced for very unremarkable food. A la carte option not given. 3) being forced to eat dinner by 9 pm so that staff can close the food counters. Need some flexibility while on a vacation. 4) no interaction with chef about dietary options and preferences, only a fixed and set menu meals and breakfast

A very warm welcome was extended to us & we had a very comfortable stay there. The staff was very courteous & prompt with the services. We also loved the achaar collection they had at food table which they mentioned have been prepared by you. All food preparations were also excellent. It was a joyous stay. Hoping to visit again.
