This two-bedroom apartment is thoughtfully designed across two levels: upstairs features the living area, kitchen, laundry, and bathroom; downstairs includes two bedrooms with two king-size beds and one single bed. The space is modern, well-equipped, and generous, with a private balcony that delivers an immersive mountain experience. Floor-to-ceiling windows wrap around the corner layout, offering nearly 270-degree views—from Mt Feathertop to the High Plains. From the bedrooms and balcony, we witnessed dramatic alpine weather shifts, rolling storm clouds, sweeping rain, glowing sunrises and sunsets, and even a clear view of the Milky Way at night. Located just behind The General restaurant and positioned on elevated ground without visual obstruction, this apartment is widely regarded as one of the best vantage points in Australia’s alpine region. A stay defined not just by comfort, but by landscape.

We had a perfect stay at Mountain Dreaming Apts. Up there for a summer wedding event. We had apt. 7 with two single beds which we quite comfy. It was great that the room had a kitchenette with supplies so we could have our cereal and coffee in the morning. The views out the windows were wonderful. Don't forget to look at the night sky while visiting as you can clearly see the Milky Way and so many stars not often seen in other areas that have light pollution. We ate several times at The General and it was very tasty and good food. Plus, the view from the outdoor balcony are some of the best scenic views I've ever witnessed of the mountain ranges (esp. at sunset)! The small store there also allowed us to get milk, waters, snacks, toiletries, when we needed them.

Terrific location. Village bus stops directly outside accommodation. Close to Big D for beginner skiing. Well appointed unit, good to be able to cook when we didn't want to go out. Would have given 5 stars, but there were a couple of nights when the music from the General Hotel was a little loud. Younger guests (we are late 50s) mightn't worry about this.

Fantastic location with exceptional views over the ranges. Friendly and helpful staff in The General showed us to are room. Beds very comfortable and clean. A nice luxury after summer hiking ( especially cosy after a rare cold snap with snowfalls in February!) Hearty meals in The General to end the days

Very nice clean well-appointed rooms with good appliances, comfy beds and great views. The food at the bar is excellent! But the real highlight is how friendly, helpful and willing to improvise the staff are. I had to change my plans due to weather and they went above and beyond to make it easy for me to adjust booking details and organise transport out of Hotham. Can't recommend them enough!

Mountain Dreaming has an amazing position on the mountain. The stunning views, the easy access to unload your luggage to accessing the bus to other areas or a short walk next door to the Big D. Having the General as part of the complex makes for an easy food and dining option with great menu options available. We would definitely stay again.

It was just the best experience. Staff were so helpful and friendly. The room was fantastic. So warm and toasty. Everything you need was there. The dinner at The General was something else . Never expected to get fine dining food. Want to say the biggest thankyou to all the staff. Julie and James Earls

A beautiful corner apartment with a stunning view. Quite spacious, good bathroom and kitchen. The beds are comfortable the apartment clean. Location is perfect for Big D, and dining at the Genny. The sunsets are amazing and the mountain ranges are gorgous. Would happily stay again.
