My second stay. Everything was great. Good value and nice to receive a discount for one person in a double room. In the evening, the bar area is bustling. In the two evenings there, I had a variety of interesting conversations, which, as a lone traveller, was very enjoyable. The food is of good quality and well-priced. And it was fantastic to see that the kitchen was spotless. Whoever the chef is, they need to keep them.

Wonderful pub Great staff. Great beer. Lovely atmosphere. Locals very friendly. Well worth a visit. Food is amazing but I’ve not tried it Will return on a regular basis

Really disappointing. The food was very mediocre, very salty gravy with the pie and the hot pot was fairly tasteless and chewy. The lights in the room were so bright it felt like eating in an airport than a pub.

I couldn't fault my stay! All the staff were friendly & nothing was too much trouble. I had breakfast & also ate there in the evenings. All the food was good but the full English breakfast was fantastic (especially a fried slice with it!) & great value. My room was a good size, warm & comfortable with a good, working hot shower. Not much in the way of facilities outside the Inn unless you drive. However, I was on a walking break & it suited my needs perfectly. Lots of great walks varying, I would say, from relatively easy to quite hard depending on your fitness & endurance levels. (I'm a relatively fit 65yr old & was doing about 10mls a day for 3 days) Beautiful & varied scenery.

Cheap and cheerful Sunday lunch on a nice autumn afternoon outside. Lunch was £12 not £17.50-£20 like other establishments so expectations were reduced. That said the meal was lovely although the stuffing needed a little bit more TLC. Ample food and would go back.

Such delicious food! And nice atmosphere! The food came so quickly too which was great with having a toddler with us. Thank you for accommodating us on Bank Holiday

We drove by this pub last night and thought wow what a lovely looking pub. We decided to go for lunch today at about 1pm. I don’t know why we stayed! The outside eating area at the front of the pub was disgusting! The ground has never seen a brush or a blower in its life, neither has the tables seen a lick of varnish! There was cigarettes all over the floor, a poo bag, full ashtrays! Vile! We wouldn’t let our dogs lie on the floor they sat on the seats with us. Food came in 5 minutes and well., the bread was dry for a start! I won’t go on but we won’t go back! Wish I took photos. Clean inside and out everyday!

Dined here twice, two days on the trot. Friendly and Welcoming staff. Home Cooked Pie which changed its contents on the Specials Board as I was eating it so wasn't 100% sure what the contents were but delicious all the same and then a Ploughman's Lunch. Ideal for Walkers like us. Thank you
