We ate at the restaurant in the hotel, which was a few doors down from where we were staying. When we got there, the restaurant was empty, there were only 2 staff that we could see, and we wondered whether to go on elsewhere. However, we were really glad that we didn’t. The staff were very friendly and made us very welcome. The manager was a lovely man. He brought over the menus and took our orders. I explained that I was vegetarian and couldn’t eat chilli, or very spicy food. He listened carefully and noted it down. After he brought our drinks he disappeared, and I think he was actually doing the cooking himself. When the food came, there was plenty of it and it was all delicious. We had ordered the special paneer noodles, chicken kotthu, chicken biryani with rice and chicken noodles. We couldn’t actually eat it all and took quite a bit away in a box. It was all very reasonably priced too. The manager chatted to us, asking about us and our trip and sharing details and photos of his family, who he only gets to see a couple of days each month because he is working. A kind and genuine man. We had a really great meal and a very relaxing evening. We can’t comment on the hotel as we didn’t stay there, but would definitely recommend the restaurant.

Just at Trincomalee Town Beach and after have enjoyed it, there is a great place where to order and enjoy traditional cuisine very well prepared, served in a friendly way and with economic price. The local ambiance is a plus and the day is just perfect
