Very friendly and helpful staff, and the room was lovely. Wifi was not always reachable, didn’t work in the restaurant but then when I went up to room got on immediately. Prospective guests need to plan for hauling suitcases up stairs. (I had 39 steps to climb and many turns and fire doors to negotiate) and for VERY tight parking in the parking lot behind the hotel, but one can park for free in the public lot out front between 6pm and 8 am if the back fills up. Very convenient to Herriot museum and Tesco. Would stay there again.

The room was so small, but the heating and water pipes were burning hot, which made our room like a sauna. We made the reception aware before we went to evening meal with friends, but were told that they did not have another room available and that it should cool down. However, the heat stayed so hot in the room and was very uncomfortable. On arrival at reception in the hotel around 1430, we explained we had parked our car in a parking space at the front of the hotel, the receptionist just said ‘you will have a parking ticket by now’! She did highlight there is a car park at the back of the hotel and directions, but she carried on talking to explain how to get to our room etc, meanwhile my wife went outside to make sure we didn’t get a parking ticket! I found all the staff were unhelpful and not willing to help.

Golden Fleece overnighter
Room excellent, clean and tidy.
Breakfast this morning a bit disorganised, had to ask for coffee 3 times and toaster and bread removed before we had finished.
Quality of the good though was very good.

The location in Thirsk was good for exploring Herriot life. Proprietors were helpful and very kind.
The sink was very plugged. You have to carry suitcases up many stairs, depending on your floor

Rooms were small but very well furnished and good value for money, very clean and the bed was comfy. Hotel is in a great location, especially for the races. Staff were very friendly.
There was no receptionist on our arrival, a note advised us to see the bar staff, but they were extremely busy, so this wasn't ideal.

住了两晚，绝不会再来。房间小得可怜，即使开着窗户、风扇全天候开着也热得要命。当时才18度，真不知道要是遇到热浪会是什么样。我丈夫从他那边几乎挤不上床，空间实在太局促了。桌上堆满了东西，根本没地方放我们的东西。因为我身体不适，我们特意要求一间安静的房间，房间确实很安静，但要爬三段楼梯，这对我自己和我76岁的丈夫来说都很不方便。浴室很大，洗浴用品也不错，但洗完澡后就像桑拿房一样，因为没有排风系统。窗外的景色简直让人难以置信，破旧的栅栏和别人屋顶上的垃圾。前台接待员也一点都不乐于助人。不推荐，也不会再来。
