WiFi wastheoretically available but my devices would not connect. My room wasn't serviced until the final day and they did not have shampoo or conditioner. The proprietor was almost gleefully unhelpful, acting like I was insane to expect a 2oz bottle of shampoo. The room was clean at least.

Do not let them upcharge you.
I reserved and paid for the room a few weeks ahead of time but the manager tried to charge an additional $20 because their rates had gone up since I had booked the room. We had to push back on that silly logic and they caved and said nevermind. Also, the bathroom door was springloaded open and would not lstch shut and the shower wall had a hole in it. The microwave didnt work. Otherwise, it was about what we expected.

The lady at the front desk was very rude kept raising her voice and telling me i was someone else saying my id didnt match the name on the reservation even though it was my name and was trying to give me rhe wrong reservation. Then she knocked on my door while i was changing and had no clothes on after i said just a minute just to tell me checkout is at 11am when it was only 9am. Also my bedding had cigarette burns all over it.

poorly managed - front desk manager charged me $40 over the advertised price - this was not a deposit or any taxes. i called ******* and after fighting with the front desk for an hour i was told i would get a refund of $40
that never happened. ******* lied, motel six in newport news lied, i lost. no winners in this situation

It is a Motel 6 - but it is newly renovated with hardwood floors, the bathroom and bathtub looked brand new, very clean and quiet. All in all it is a good place for a nights stay if you are in the area - we used it as a home base for some concerts at the Hampton Coliseum. Worked out well.

When I arrived I drove around the property but saw no indication of where the office was. I asked a cleaning person and he said "right here" and pointed to the room he had just came out of but it was a guest room. I called the place and the manager talked me around the turns to get me to the office. I got checked in and went to the room which was very well done, they seem to have started updating the property from the room interiors and left the exterior for a later time. The internet service was excellent, the TV was a dated item that needs Cox to get their service cleaned up to eliminate the constant interruptions. The driveway going in and out is littered with potholes that have had no attention in a very long time, my truck handled them okay but I wouldn't want to tackle them in a passenger car.
