Have not stayed in this hotel in about 5 years due to travel requirements. But what was noticeable each time I stayed at the hotel in prior years was the care the owner takes of his facility, and the constant improvements. Sometimes just a room at a time, but they were getting it done. Fast forward 5 years and the family is still upgrading. So everything is not perfect, but the heart and work is spot on. It’s not some giant corporate chain sinking millions in for programmed upgrades but a family business where the owners give it their all to make a go of it. Our family is getting tired of the chains everywhere running most everything. So the Magnuson is a breath of fresh air and we enjoy the differences and uniqueness. This stay, they’ve added grounds updates, and in the large lobby glass-doored refrigerator, they’ve added a free food section. It contains juices, hard boiled eggs, soft drinks, and a number of other items. There is also a free food shelf with items such as packaged donuts and other snack foods. Your room refrigerator will have complimentary water. The microwave can be used to heat up foods as well. I’m thankful this hotel is here in Blythe and will be very interested to see what they have here on my next stay!

This is a basic motel, with no amenities except the room. However, the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The property is well-maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is very good for the price.
