We spent two days in this hotel on our way to South India. This hotel is a gem: it is perfect from every single aspect. First of all, it is extremely well designed and decorated. Everything is pleasant to the eye, well-conceived and comfortable. Beautiful colors, intimate dining room, a patio with books and comfortable chairs to hang out, spotless cleanliness. The room is spacious, the bed excellent, the shower generous and without hot-water issues. The hotel is literally at the heart of the city: everything is at walking distance. Despite that, it is very quiet: once you pass the gate you feel in a retreat. I highly recommend the restaurant of the hotel: it is by far better than the "best restaurants in Jodhpur" that we tried. The service also was excellent. We asked for a tour guide and the hotel recommended a marvelous guide, the sites were breathtaking and the tour had a very personal feel to it. In short: if you go to Jodhpur and you don't want to stay far from the center in a secluded palace, this is the only place to be.

Right from exiting the street and entering the courtyard we felt like we were at a home away from home. The front of house was Amit at the time. He was so friendly, warm, fluent (English) and supportive that we could both feel our bodies immediately relax. He offered to have someone walk us to an ATM, or said we could pay later or whenever we liked. We were taken to the rooms which were beautiful, quiet, clean and homely. There was bottled water in the room, the fridge, fans and lights were all on, and this produced an inviting atmosphere. Outside in the little courtyard, the water feature babbled away creating a sense of tranquility, while the thick concrete walls muffled the noise of the busy street only meters away. We were able to check in early and were immediately waited on by Sujit and Ganesh, and made to feel welcome and comfortable. Sometimes it felt more like a temple than a hotel. The food was sensational, and some of the best Indian cooking I have had to date. The bathrooms are well appointed and the showers are hot. The beds and pillows are comfortable and the linen clean, as was the bathroom. We could also order a room clean whenever we required it and there was a next afternoon laundry service. We were able to easily walk from the hotel to the clocktower and step well, and then to Mehrangarh fort and back. The team at the hotel can also help with booking a taxi or a tuk-tuk if you don't feel confident negotiating that tricky business in India! When we were leaving, we were given complementary tea and coffee and invited to stay in the lounge until our transport time arrived and we said our goodbyes. Amit and Unshuman (owner) also helped in booking our travel and offered a ride to the airport or train station to assist us on our way. At no time did we doubt the kindness and honesty of our hosts. It is easy to see why most of the other guests there at the time were repeat customers as Baijoo Niwas simply outperforms any other hotel in India (and Australia for that matter) that we have ever patronised. Their attentiveness, generosity and attention to detail earns them a 5/5 star rating from us and we can't wait to go back again next time we are in Jodhpur. Thanks for everything, guys, you are all amazing.
