We stayed at Sea View Lodge for a week and, while the location is undeniably great – right on the beach and close to everything in Jambiani – our overall experience was mixed. The food was fresh and did improve slightly each day, but the menu was repetitive and quickly became monotonous. For a week-long stay, we expected more variety and creativity. Cleanliness was inconsistent. Our room was not always cleaned to a satisfactory standard, and we noticed issues with the bathroom and common areas on several occasions. We also had to remind staff about basic housekeeping more than once. Service was hit or miss. Two people in the restaurant (a male waiter and a young woman) were genuinely friendly and attentive, and one person at reception was helpful – but the rest of the staff seemed uninterested or unmotivated, which affected the overall atmosphere. No major problems occurred, but the lack of attention to detail and the average food and cleaning standards mean we can only give Sea View Lodge a maximum of 4 out of 5. With some improvements in staff training and more focus on maintaining cleanliness, this could be a much better place. We recommend it for the location and a few standout staff members, but management needs to step up to meet the expectations of guests staying for more than just a couple of nights.

Our stay at Seaview was beautiful, the staff were amazing, the food was lovely, can’t understand why there are some bad reviews as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The scenery was stunning having breakfast and looking out to sea, the dinners were very reasonable, cheap and lovely, me and my girlfriend Enjoyed ourselves very much and I hope to return at some point, thanks again to all the staff that took care of us, (we loved the cats) the hotel was very authentic in it’s architecture and being situated in the village meant we got to explore the local lifestyle/shops and overall ambience. Perfect if you’re looking for a relaxed vibe, it felt personal, like the staff understood us and our preferences
