Fabulous Sunday Roast. Probably the best we've had. Beautiful pub in a beautiful village . Friendly staff and locals. Great service. Not the cheapest but very good value for money and they did offer a small roast too which I should have had! Overall very impressed and we will be back!

En route to Cornwall from London, we decided to find a village pub rather than a service station and we were not disappointed in our decision. We stopped in another village but the pub was closed on Tuesdays. Luckily a local told us of The Masons Arms about 12 minute drive away. The pub is really lovely and has some atmosphere and the feed was fantastic. Ploughman’s as a main was really good and the Tarka Dhal daily special for the vegetarian was a real treat. The kids had some sausage and chips and a chicken pasta. Neither disappointed. Freshly made bread and butter pudding and an Etom mess for dessert and we were on our way again, not any of the drama of motorway services. Just wish we could have made a boozy afternoon of it as the weather was amazing.

I stayed at the Mason’s Arms in Odcombe the night before my wedding in April 2023. I arrived a couple of hours early before check in and Taylor was very welcoming and allowed me to check in early so I could get on and arrange the rest of my day. I ordered breakfast the evening before which was ideal for me. The room was fantastic; very roomy, clean and attention to detail. Lots of coffees and milks and the bathroom had lots of toiletries, even makeup pads!! I slept really well. The room was quiet, even with the ceiling fan on! The next morning, I arrived for breakfast at 0815 and was met by Rose (I think) and she was so lovely and welcoming. The table was well laid out and the coffee was good! The cooked breakfast was fab, good local food. The staff and pub were so wonderful and an absolute credit to our local town and villages. Would most definitely recommend anyone to stay and, if I had to stay away from home (5 miles away) again, I would chose here x

What a find!!! Lovely place to stay for a few days or en route to Devon/Cornwall. We had a overnight stay and you wish for anything more. The room had everything you need and very comfortable. The staff were lovely and the restaurant food was superb. We certainly hope to visit again one day. Lower Oddcombe is also a pretty village.

The most delicious and different starter, bacon custard served with bread and yummy relish followed by roast pork and smashing crackling. All the staff were so welcoming, attentive and wonderful with the dogs. Definitely recommend a visit 😊👌

We stayed here in June for a party we were attending nearby. Our room was lovely - we had a drink from the bar getting ready and the staff recommended a taxi company to take us to the event. Next morning we had the most amazing breakfast. It was cooked to order and piping hot. One of the best Full English we have had. Really friendly and helpful staff. Would really recommend staying here. We will be back when we visit our friends again.

Needed a stopover for the Friday night, out in our motor home and saw the pub on a Facebook site. They were very welcoming and the pitch was big and with power. Had a very good meal in the pub, I highly recommend the gammon, and real ale. There was a very good live music, just the right mood for this lovely place. A beautiful old thatched English pub serving great food and real ale with great live music. There is accommodation and from what we heard it’s also a very high standard. They are very welcoming to dogs, we have three, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We will be back for sure.

We love going to this pub especially for late Sunday lunch in the winter. We were there last Sunday and as usual the food was homemade and delicious, lovely yorkshire pudding, small soft baked potatoes, succulent pork and a good selection of vegetables. Today we went again taking friends and were so disappointed with our roast. There was something up in the kitchen. The yorkshire puddings were burnt, the pork on two of our lunches was dry and tasteless and the potatoes not up to their usual standards at all. Such a shame! The veg was good and the meal was hot. The puddings were delicious. We did mention this to the lovely staff and we will go again but if this had been our first visit we may not have returned.
