酒店回复: Dear Piernino, Thank you for letting us know you found our location spectacular, and our staff courteous. We are sorry that you found the food and the rooms not to your liking. In terms of the food, our kitchen staff has received high marks this summer, but we understand the main buffet selections on any given meal may not be to every individual’s specific taste. We try to offer our guests a variety of entrees, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free. To supplement the main entrees we offer a full salad bar (with grilled chicken for those wanting a meat protein on their salad), sandwich fixins, and guest access to our leftover fridge (where all foods are dated to make sure they are fresh). We have fresh fruit, chips, bagels, toast, cereal, yogurts, desserts, hot & cold drinks available to our guests 24/7. We try our best to offer value and variety, including a complimentary Wine, Cheese & Charcuterie board each afternoon between 4:30-5:30pm, just prior to the start of our dinner buffet. I’m not aware of any lodge that offers so many food options included with your room rate. As far as the rooms we offer a variety of rooms, our older lodge rooms with private baths, remodeled for comfort but with a nod to our history as a girls’ leadership camp are mainly for sleeping, as we have numerous public areas for our guests to enjoy, indoors and out, with activities, such as boating on our private lake, hiking directly from the property, trampolining, ping pong, foosball, hot tubbing, board games and books inside the lodge and s’mores outside at our campfire logs. We also have seating on the beach of our lake and on our back deck with a stunning view of the Great Western Divide mountains. In all of our rooms we use good quality mattresses, pillows, bedding & towels, and plenty of storage. Some of our bathrooms are small, but some are quite large. At this altitude evenings are usually quite cool in the Sierra, so the lodges up here don’t offer air conditioning, except as an upgrade. We have 5 units with A/C, but they are not standard lodge rooms, but upscale units that were recently built and/or completely remodeled to the studs. Among these are our new Forest Cabins, designed by an architect to let the outdoors in, and are the nicest and newest accommodations inside the gates of these two National Parks and forests. Our efforts to upgrade and remodeled our rooms were disrupted by back-to-back natural disasters over the past five years, including the pandemic in 2020/21, a major wildfire (the Kings Canyon Complex Wildfire of which you probably saw evidence of driving on the road to our lodge) in 2021, and most recently, the 2022/2023 Snow Disaster, which left us with millions of dollars worth of damage, none of which was covered by insurance as the insurance industry pulls out of California due to wildfire risk. Once our $1.2 million+ entry bridge is completed (we are currently awaiting Federal Government approval of the design), we

My family of three was extremely excited to stay in one of the new cabins. Unfortunately, when we started getting settle in, the cabin was not cleaned well. The refrigerator was not wiped out from the last guests, carpet not vacuumed, the main bath was sticky. I took it upon myself to clean. I was just hoping they changed the bedding. There was an empty bottle of hand soap and a smidge of dishwashing detergent, and a sponge at the kitchen sink. I did mention it to the front desk and was given a % off our stay. Also, the cabin in general could use a good cleaning. Vents, ceiling fans covered in dust, walls could be wiped down, etc. The cabin itself was spacious and we loved having room. It was hard to get used to no wifi in the cabin. Couldn't check the weather, email etc., But at the lodge we had good connection. Now the good: the food was very good with a great variety. Vegetarian options were great, I did not go hungry! They had a great selection of breads to choose from so you could make a sandwich to go. Meats, cheeses, lettuce, tomato, even foil and baggies to take your food with you. Chips, protein bars, fruit, drinks were available at all times, it seemed. At 4:30 wine and a charcuterie board were available to nibble on before the evening meal. I can't say enough good things about the food, because they do an amazing job with it. The dining area was huge and we never had an issue with seating. Tons of board games were in this area, I believe it's the Pine Box Bar. (It was closed) We enjoyed the hot tub each evening and I think that was the hottest water I've ever been in. It felt wonderful. Towel were plentiful around the pool and hot tub area. We didn't have enough time, but kayaks, canoes, paddle boards were available to use in their pond. Basketball, tennis, trampoline, archery, were all available. I wish I lived in the area when I was a kid, I would have LOVED coming to the family camp. Yes, the road is long and bumpy to get here. I timed it to be 12 minutes from the main road, but one cannot control nature and It's destructiveness. Overall, It was very good stay to visit both parks. Would highly recommend.

酒店回复: Dear mauisunset 2000, We are very glad to see that you enjoyed your stay and would highly recommend our property. Thank you! As an owner, I was sorry to see about the hiccup in your room, but glad to see that our Asst. GM made it right. We appreciate your feedback so that we could address the issues you had with your accommodation, and improve our efforts going forward. I spoke with our Asst. GM and noted that your concerns were addressed with our housekeeping team. She did state that your Forest Cabin had been checked by our housekeeping manager after it was initially cleaned, but that the HK Manager did forget to check the fridge and and that the team was supposed to re-dust your room prior to your check-in (it was fully cleaned two days prior to your arrival, since we have been closed 2-days a week), but somehow that recheck was overlooked (given our location in this wilderness area, granite dust collects quickly, so we sincerely apologize that oversite, but we have put plans in place to correct that error. Our Asst. GM and HK Manager also spoke to the staff about making sure the cleaning solution on the bathroom floor was properly rinsed (as it appears that was the stickiness of which you referred to), and making sure that the hand soap and dishwashing detergent are sufficiently filled and that additional supplies are available to our guests under-sink, in case they run out during their stay. I would also like to point out to future guests that after you complained to our front desk, our Asst. GM sent a crew to reclean your room regarding the other things you expressed concern about (many of which are part of our past-season deep clean), and you felt that it wasn't necessary. As I said, we are not perfect, but we do our best to make any oversites right, as was demonstrated here (in addition to the % discount given for the three nights of your stay). Thank you for helping us improve our quality controls, and for being able to overcome our shortcomings! We do believe that the review below posted by SoapmuchB, a former disgruntled employee, has impacted many of our guests into believing that we don't vacuum or clean sheets before each new check-in and that simply is not true. The pictures posted by that former housekeeper were before photos and during cleaning various rooms, not after cleaning. She clearly posted these to do our business harm. Our reputation on other sites do not reflect the negative posts we have received since SoapmuchB posted a review and photos here which were taken prior to her doing her cleaning of the various rooms. I have provided this site with proof that SoapmuchB is a former employee, who also posted a negative review on another site. It is unfortunately that one bad apple can cause this much harm to our reputation, when most of our employees are really wonderful and caring, as stated in most reviews, and we as a business always try to do the right thing and provide our guests with real value, es

We loved the lodge! We stayed in a forest cabin and it was charming, clean, and comfortable. We loved having the cows roaming around. The food at the lodge was quite good and we were appreciative of all of the vegetarian and vegan options. Staff were friendly. We found the location to be perfect for getting to both parks.

My family and I stayed here for 1 night because it was a far drive and we wanted to explore the national parks early. The instructions given on how to arrive at the lodge were fairly easy to understand. The signs did help out a lot better than the instructions that were given. Using an off road vehicle would be preferable, but I did see other guest driving small sedan like a Prius. We chose to stay in one of their new cabins, but I wished the lodge would have explained the terrain more because I figured the area would be on a paved road instead of dirt road. My dad is handicapped and the distance to the lodge and the cabin was a pretty far walk for him. This place I would not suggest for people who have a walking disability or have troubles with walking far distances. Our overall stay was pleasant. I did wish we stayed 2 nights to enjoy the activities provided. The lake was beautiful and I loved that the lodge provided lifejackets, canoes, paddle boats and other equipments for guests to use. The staff are very helpful and friendly. We would definitely recommend staying here to enjoy an unforgettable experience in addition to exploring the national parks.

酒店回复: Dear shaespreme, We are so happy to hear that you felt your stay was unforgettable! We do hope you return, perhaps for our family camp which provides even more incredible family memories, plus almost 6-hours of childcare each day, so parents can relax and enjoy their vacation time too, and enjoy a little self-care! I’m so sorry the walk from the Forest Cabins was difficult for your dad. If you call in advance, please request the closest ADA unit to the Main Lodge, Lakeview Suite 125. It is the best ADA unit we have, and is the same price and similar finishes as The Forest Cabins, but is a short walk on a paved path to the main lodge dining area, Ponderosa Activity area, and centrally located to all things Montecito, with a dedicated handicap parking space right outside your door. We are an older lodge, but have built (3) ADA Forest Cabins, and (1) ADA Suite (125), which I highly recommend for guests who may have difficulties on unpaved walking areas to minimize the walk. Thank you again, for your kind words, we appreciate your family staying with us at Montecito and hope to see you again soon! Warmly, Tricia Dally

This was an amazing place! For the price of a standard hotel you get so much more. Great meals. Food and beverages available 24/7. You can raid the refrigerator for left overs in the middle of the night if you want! The rooms were nice and the main lodge was spacious and had plenty of room to hang out, play games, read or just sit on the back deck. There is a small lake with kayaks, canoes and SUPs. Great view of the Sierras from the back deck and close to Kings Canyon and Sequoia NP. I wish we would have booked a week here!

My partner and I very much enjoyed our 5 nights at the Montecito Sequioa Lodge. We booked a Vintage Family Lodge Room that had a king bed plus a bunkbed (recommended by another reviewer in order to have more storage space in the room). I was very pleased to find that our room was on the lower level of the Sugar Pine Lodge, with a deck just outside the door, rather than in the main lodge. In addition, there was a mini-fridge with a small freezer section in our room, which I was not expecting; I had thought that we would have to put our food in the guest fridge in the main lodge. There was no A/C in the room; however, we didn't need it since the evenings were cool enough and there was a ceiling fan. I'm not certain why the room was referred to as a "Vintage" room, since to me it implies something that is old and a bit run-down; however, I could find only two pairs of outlets in the room, so that could be "Vintage". (I do always bring a household extension cord when I travel, because I have encountered this issue multiple times). The mini-fridge appeared to be new, but did have a "Retro" look to it. The bathroom was very spacious with a tile floor and beautiful stone countertop. There is very little in the way of restaurants in this area; therefore, it was wonderful to stay somewhere that offered 3 meals a day and no need to make reservations. There was abundant food; it wasn't necessarily "gourmet", but it was good for buffet food and for the price. We did like the two coffee machines: there was a coffee machine that offered espresso drinks and a second one that offered brewed coffee with different levels of roast to choose from. The dining room is in the main lodge and has a deck with a beautiful view of the mountains as well as a large fire place. The staff was very friendly and would go out of their way to be helpful. The WiFi was a bit slow, but there was Wifi. People used to manage just fine without the internet; it's good to take a break from it, especially when you are on vacation in the mountains. I was not able to get a WiFi connection in my room; however, all that I had to do was step outside my room in order to get a connection so that I could feed my internet addiction. We did not find the detour to be a big deal. It's a dirt road, but it was graded. We did drive out to the Buck Rock Lookout Tower one day; the last 3 miles or so are a real dirt road. BTW - For the more adventurous types, it is very much worth visiting the lookout tower (which you can go inside when it is open for visitors); it's a fairly close drive from the Lodge. We also did the hike to Big Baldy from the hotel; it was nice to be able to do a hike right from our room. We would definitely stay at the Montecito Sequioa Lodge again. The location and amenities were great and the price was reasonable compared to the other hotels in the area. The next time we stay, we will definitely go canoeing on the lake near the lodge, as well as sign-up for archery lessons.

WE stayed in the main lodge. It's an older bldg and a bit shabby, but very clean and well maintained. There is no elevator, but staff will help move luggage upstairs. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent - served buffet style with enough variety for omnivores, vegetarians and everyone in between. The desserts were outstanding! Mostly, we were off site visiting the giant sequoias, but we did use the hot tub & supervised archery range, The evening astronomy telescope program presented by "Knuckles" was awesome. There are also hiking trails and a swimming pool.

They never clean the blankets or the carpets. They don't wash the blankets they just flip them. They give you dirty stones when you pay 10000 for a week in a townhouse
