Visited The Red Lion Hotel with friends for a pre-Christmas Dinner. The food was delicious and plentiful, the staff were very helpful, polite and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend. Thank you.

Went here for lunch, although it seemed like a drinkers pub as you enter it was nice and peaceful in the restaurant and the food was really nice, I had the Wild Mushroom Tagliatelle and my wife had the Cumberland Sausage and Mash. We didn't bother with dessert as we had enough with the main but they did look yummy. Will return as we both enjoyed it, staff were friendly and accommodating.

I had a lovely stay here and enjoyed a very pleasant drink in the bar and stay at the hotel with breakfast in the morning for very good value. Very friendly staff during my stay which made me feel welcome!

Work related visit. Proper pub as you enter . Friendly honest and funny locals at the bar willing to give advice and help as needed. Lovely meal for one in restaurant ( had chicken pie and winter veg, enjoyed immensely) My room number 6 is clean ,quiet and bed is very comfortable. I will be coming back it’s a country pub feel , home from home with lovely staff👍

Great room, very clean with all the toiletries . great price, friendly and helpful staff. Complimentary breakfast was unexpected but very welcome. A real family vibe feeling. Will definitely stay there again.

We had a great stay at the Red Lion, our room was lovely, with a great little balcony, it was very clean and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Excellent value too! Well done to the Red Lion team, we will be back!

Mould in corners of shower, no plug i hand basin, radiator loose on wall, drawer handle broken on unit, overpriced.

We stayed here for my mums 60th Birthday party, rooms are nice and fresh. Looks like new carpets have been laid throughout. Room 28 I really enjoyed with what I guess is the only room with a balcony, nice old beams throughout. Staff were Friendly and welcoming, Breakfast was a Roll and continental variety. Even though I couldn’t eat it at the time it was good. Thanks John for making us feel welcome and good luck in the future.

Great little hotel above an English Pub. Was relatively quiet after the pub closed. Great central location, friendly staff, wonderful food. No air conditioning but they did provide a couple of fans and we kept the window open so that cooled the room well enough. The beds were a bit on the firm side but overall was a great room.

Been for Sunday lunch to celebrate my mums birthday. The menu was good we had the prawns to start and the we all had the beef. One person asked this to be cooked well done and the rest of us had it as it was cooked. When it came out it was perfect and so much meat. The vegetables were cooked perfectly and the cauliflower cheese was lovely. The service was attentive and we didn’t have to ask for anything they was right there. I would highly recommend this restaurant it truly has a family atmosphere
