The Lion Hotel hosted my brothers wedding last Saturday. On the day, from start to finish , it was perfect! The staff were professional, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The actual venue, hotel , function room , restaurant, were spotlessly clean , Food was delicious , generous servings, and plenty of choices. We were made to feel welcome, comfortable and special! Event planner, Georgina , made sure everything went smoothly and again I have to praise all the staff for such a fantastic day. Thankyou so much for giving my brother and his wife exactly what they wanted for their special day . Very impressed .

I was lucky enough to have my wedding in this stunning venue! My wedding coordinator was Kailey. I cannot fault her, her service is impeccable and her attention to detail. The Lion couldn’t do enough for us, found us a lovely room to stay in the night before which was big enough for us all to get ready in the morning. The whole day ran like clock work Kailey and her team have a great work ethic and everything went smooth and I was so calm and relaxed knowing I was in safe hands. All the guests and myself said how amazing the food and service was. A special mention to Rumbi, she made our day even more special & her customer service was wonderful. She is a real Gem. Again thank you for the most perfect day food amazing, rooms super comfy and the service top class. Thank you Kailey and team.

We celebrated our daughters 17th birthday on Saturday as a party of 11. The staff were very attentive and as one of our guests had a severe food allergy ensured this was managed carefully and sensitively. There was a huge choice of food and an array of specials making it very difficult to decide. Even as a vegetarian there was plenty to choose from. When the food arrived it was delicious and nice and hot. The staff checked in regularly throughout our meal ensuring we had everything we needed and never once did we have to ask for a drink!! They even put a candle in my daughters dessert and sang happy birthday without being asked which was a lovely touch. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant for any occasion!! We will be back!!!

For the third year running we chose this restaurant for our family Christmas lunch. Because of traffic jams, the staff accommodated us arriving late. Food was excellent and staff delightful and helpful. Happy to recommend this establishment.

We booked the restaurant, Sunday evening for 10 people, food was very well cooked and presented, vegetarian portion on the small side, but very tasty. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for families, maybe not couples as its quite noisy.

My main course was not very warm. So asked it be reheated, but still not hot enough really. Our waitress was quite stressed and felt not very welcoming. When we were shown to our table we were put right at the back in the corner where nobody wants to go. So requested to move.

Ordered ham eggs a d chips asked if eggs could be poached as type of eggs not specified on menu waitress said she would ask, she never came back, next my meal came up with fried eggs which made the one slice of ham greasy. I explained I preferred poached eggs and was told the kitchen could not do them. I asked for vinegar it never appeared leaving the chips quite dry. My latte was way too creamy could not taste any coffee. Overall my whole experience was really not good. The meal was nothing special and expensive.

It was amazing. We were celebrating my husband’s 70th birthday. Even though we were a big party, the staff were so efficient. Nothing was too much trouble for them. A big thank you to Max who went that extra mile. The food was excellent and such a great choice…….something for everyone. The staff of The Lion made it a night to remember. Thank you.

We were a family of 12,. The service was very good, all our dinners were brought up at the same time, everyone said their meal was delicious. We all thoroughly enjoyed the evening, very nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend to friends and colleagues.
