Central, a real old English country Pub Hotel, lovely friendly staff. Room very cosy and warm clean. Had a function there and buffet which was very good, Robin the owner and staff made the occasion special, I would recommend this hotel which oozes character and it was also good value for money breakfast using local produce Which was lovely

I stayed here for one night and really liked it. The staff were friendly, food great and bedroom clean. For the price very good. I put 4 instead of 5 because the wifi was a little unreliable - but if you are in the area and I would stay here.

Beautiful building and lovely gentleman working there so sad it's absolutely neglected and filthy. Bed not made daily,m, floors not vacuumed for 5 days. Customer service lacking no info pack, no wifi code or access to parking or meal info provided. Chef needs replacing Would not recommend

Booked a double room and ended up with a twin room, so not a good start to the weekend. Some of the negative views expressed here aren't necessarily balanced, yes it is in absolute need of TLC, but Robin the property owner is a relatively old guy who attempting to run an old and rambling landmark without much help. Be prepared to adapt to the age and uniqueness of the buildings age and you'll be happy, if you can't then perhaps the local Travelodge would be more suitable for your needs. On the plus side, the hospitality is good, the food as well, and the Town is small but interesting. Would recommend based on cost and free car parking.

The hotel is quirky, yes it is old and some bits need attention but we all do as we get older! It is quaint and has beautiful features, the village is lovely to look round. The rooms are spacious, the beds are very comfortable and the food is lovely. Everyone made us feel welcome and we had a great weekend. IF you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel, with great pub food and drinks and somewhere to relax and make new friends, you won’t go wrong. IF you are looking for Michelin star restaurant and the ritz type rooms then you will be disappointed! We will stay again no hesitation!

The bed was comfortable and the bedding was clean, the breakfast each day was very good!! It is a quirky old hotel but that is about all!! On arrival the keys are left on a table in reception on a piece of paper with room no on and you have to fine room yourself, no sign of anyone around. The bathroom was dirty and very dated don’t think behind the door has been cleaned!! The toilet seat was broken with no upper lid, there was mould around the shower screen and bath, the enamel on bath was chipped. The shower could not be mounted on the wall and the water pressure was on existent!! There were large cracks in the ceilings and walls. The whole place is in need of decorating and updating!!

Had a wake here for a very dear friend. They totally ripped us off for food and then charged room rate and teas and coffees on top!! DO NOT USE this place unless you negotiate everything (bearing in mind it’s the worst time to negotiate if sorted a wake but that’s what they seem to play on!!) before you use. What a shame, the food was delicious, but everything let down by the owner taking advantage. Would NOT recommend
