Check in was pretty standard. Zero personality or care from front desk guy so that was a bummer right off the bat. The second I opened the door to the room the smell of mold took over. It seemed to be mostly in the bathroom so kept that closed and went to open window to air out bed area and had no screen. Sheets and pillow cases were stained. Towels were yellow and smelled of mildew. Breakfast was crap. Not a fruit in site…would not stay here again.

As soon as we opened door to room it smelled like vomit. It was musty. There was no liner in shower so water was running over side of tub. Only 2 towels for stay (normally there’s at least 4)

We booked for two nights and left at 2am on the first night! Disgusting! Mold around tub, smelt like someone smoked 20 packs of cigarettes daily in the room for the last 20 years. Dirty bedding, carpet and chairs. Paper thin walls, could hear everything going on around us. Small flies everywhere. We tried to tough it out but could absolutely not. And ended up booking a hotel 30 minutes away. Luckily, the Holiday Inn. in Elgin understands what good customer service and clean accommodations are and let us check in at 6am that same morning. The hotel is refusing to issue a refund for the second night. Horrible business practice since all of these problems we encountered were a direct result of bad property management on their behalf. The pictures of the property must be photoshopped because they are a horrible representation of what this place actually is, and the good reviews must be fake.
