I had a good experience at La Quinta. The staff was polite and efficient. My room and the hotel were very clean. I liked having a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in the room. There was plenty of parking and the price was a great deal. The hotel is older and the decor is dated, but it was very quiet with solid walls. I was a bit worried because of the low ratings, but I was pleasantly surprised and glad I gave it a chance. Overall, a comfortable and pleasant stay.

Arrived for check in at 11pm and only wanted a shower after 6+ hours of driving. Got to our room to find the bathroom ceiling in a state of water damage induced collapsed surrounded by mold growth. Cracked and leaking vanity sink with leaking P trap. This was room 331. I went to the service desk and asked for a second room. I went up to assess room 427 before bringing my family up to it, this room had cracked and hugging shower surround, mold infested ceiling, peeling paint off most of the ceiling and wall and an actual hole I could fit most of my hand in, all in the bathroom. The wall with the hole was held together mostly with caulking and paint. The drywall behind the hole was saturated. Back to the desk to ask for a new room. Went to assess room 337 and 3 different attempts with 6 different key cards and nothing worked. Back to the desk and assessed 427, the only room worth staying in, clean, tidy and no water damage. Emailed and rang corporate but got no response. Will be informing VDH and BBB.

Great value for the price! Room clean and comfy! Breakfast above the average complimentary hotel breakfast! Only complaint was rude breakfast attendee!

The rooms are outdated, especially the bathrooms. One of our rooms had a terrible patch job on the wall. I'm not a handy person, but I could've patched that huge hole a lot better myself. The plumbing needs to be updated and so do their electrical outlets. The blow dryer plug kept falling out of the outlet. The toiletries they supply are poor quality and very minimal. The elevator was very hot, like a sauna and for someone who is claustrophobic, it wasn't easy taking that ride up to the 4th floor. The person at the front desk for our check out needs to learn what hospitality means. I greet everyone with a smile, as I did approaching her and told her "good morning", and she couldn't even respond or ask how our stay was, just took my key cards and then seemed put out because I asked for a receipt. $100 for one night, just to have a bed to sleep in after a long day in the sun and water to rest before a 3 hour drive home, it wasn't worth it. Nest time I will be staying somewhere else.

Good location for visiting Historic Williamsburg, not far from the Visitor Center. Hotel economizes too much on the housekeeping staff.

Good rooms, great breakfast
The hotel is room nice for the price range, and the lobby is great. Breakfast was awesome with scrambled eggs each day and alternating sausage or bacon and french toast or diced potatoes, and 2 waffle makers plus the standard continental breakfast options.
The only pool (outside) looked a little green - but we never asked about it since we were using the "awake" portion of our day at Busch Gardens.

The pool was drained, the toilet was scratched, and it was a bad room with a tiny old tv. The amenities were small, employees were clueless, and it was an outdated room. Additionally, the breakfast was subpar and they closed it before the usual time when they ran out.

The whole property is old and dated. Our room was in a sad state of repair. The sink had a full-length crack; there was no toilet paper holder, only a roll on the countertop; the remote would only turn the TV on or off, nothing else; the bedside lamp turned off every time someone sat on the bed (loose plug that we couldn't fix). But the worst was having an employee open our door at night after we'd gone to sleep, "just checking to see if the room was occupied." Inexcusable! FYI, this is the first time I've ever posted such a negative review online. I don't do this lightly.

Very old, so old I thought it was part of the first settlers who came to America.:) Williamsburg is a beautiful place and the hotel was dilapidated. Needs much attention. That being said, it still could have been a nice visit if it were clean and staff were friendly, but it was not so. Do not stay even if the price is cheap.

Clean and quiet, can't ask for any more than that! Great location for all things Williamsburg. Breakfast was more than just toast and coffee, included omelets bacon, sausage and waffles. The coffee could use an up grade though! We would definitely stay here again.
