The moment we stepped into this place , we knew we were in for a treat. The place was filled with nostalgia and charm Has a stunning backdrop of the limestone rock formations. Our host Chrisoula made us feel more like family than guests Upon departure after polishing off a nice breakfast , I asked chrisoula if she could be kind enough to wrap in a take away bag some of the delicious cheese pies we didn’t consume , as we had a 3 hour drive to Preveza Not only did she lovingly oblige , she managed to fill some extra pies for our trip It was an awesome gesture Air conditioning worked well and bathroom was quaint Simply the best little cottage if staying in Kastraki

The most quaint place I have ever stayed! Felt very much like a home away from home. VERY CLEAN. Easy to check in/out. If you have a large back you might have trouble navigating up the stairs, so maybe request a ground level room, but views are just stunning. Breakfast had lots of options and was sufficient. Loved staying here and would highly recommend.

Our stay at Petrino Guesthouse was very disappointing. The room itself was lovely and the view from the balcony was exceptional. The bathroom beautiful. Our biggest disappointment was that the place had no heart or soul, there wasnt anyone anywhere. It was contactless check in and after finally getting through the door and nearly falling down the cellar steps (the hatch was left open, right at the side of the entrance door) we scaled the north face of the Eiger to get up the very steep stairs to our room. We paid €250 for 2 nights and they were paper cups for the drinks! We're not snobs but for that price you expect proper cups. There was no teaspoon and after setting up a WhatsApp connection (the only means of communication with staff), I was told to go get one myself from the cellar. I said I would wait for them to bring one next time they cleaned, as it was very dark down there and was told to use the torch on my phone.. ! After we got one the next (late) afternoon from the top of the stairs in the communal room, it was immediately removed when the room was cleaned the next morning. We had used an extra cover for the bed, which was also immediately packed away in the wardrobe again, making us feel like we had done something wrong by using it. We had to ask by WhatsApp when and where breakfast was as there was no information in the room. It was in the cellar, so next morning we braved the steep steps. There were 2 ladies down there and it was absolute basic kalimera/ tea/coffee/yoghurt words, no conversation. Breakfast was ok but no fresh milk, it was the same little cartons used in the room. The restaurant they suggested in the information we found online was down a very steep hill and after walking for ages, never reached it. We went in the first we came to and had to scale the hill back up again. We went in the cafe bar opposite later and it was fabulous, full of lovely people and the food (we had pizzas the next evening, not very Greek but they looked good) was great. It had a really good atmosphere which Petrino most definitely lacked. On leaving Petrino there was a woman sat at the reception desk but she had all on to speak. Maybe a language barrier you say, but I speak Greek so there was no excuse. For us it was very disappointing, the Greek piloxenia is what we love. The place we wanted to go, where we'd been before, was fully booked so it had a lot to live up to before the stay started. As I said the building was lovely but not for those with walking difficulties or difficulties with steep steps as hand rails were lacking at the top. I think it was most definitely overpriced for the service we received. Extremely disappointing
