This was our first trip to Italy and we were so excited to have 5 nights in Florence. My advice to any first time visitors to Italy is to consciously decide NOT to compare accommodations to those in the states. Enjoy the simplicity and elegance of craftsmanship of Locanda de' Ciompi and the entire city/countryside. Our hosts, Mira and Francesco, were so gracious. They were so patient with us in our emails and many questions months prior to our actual arrival. They were kind and encouraging with our meager attempts to speak Italian. The accommodations are very comfortable, clean and plenty of hot water! They took the time to mark on a map interesting sites as must sees as well as their favorite gelato spots and instructions on how and where to catch the bus to go to Piazzale Michelangelo for the best view of the city and spectacular sunset. It's quite a party up there, we even got to see a wedding. No need for finding a breakfast place because the complimentary cards that come with your stay allow you to visit a café' 2 minute walk down the street and get: a savory pastry, a sweet pastry, a coffee/cappuccino and a bottle of water - for each person! It was a fantastic and very convenient way to start our day. We felt like we were visiting friends we had known for years. Francesco and Mira are hard working parents that pour their hearts into their business and are so eager to talk to each of their guests to make sure they enjoy their stay at Laconda de' Ciompi which is located so conveniently a mile from the train station, half mile from the Duomo and less than a mile (20 min walk) from so many other "must sees" like Academia, Galileo's Museum, Ponte Vecchio and so much more. I truly cannot wait to go back.

Thank you Mira and Jason! We had A FABULOUS STAY at the hotel! We stayed 2 nights and our room was so clean and so cute and had everything we needed and the bed was so comfortable and the LOCATION was perfect and the breakfast was delish! Mira and Jason are great hosts, helping us with dinner reservations and our taxi back to the train station and helping with activities in the city. Thank you for a great stay we hope to be back sooner than later!

We especially enjoyed the location of this charming small B&B. It's in a lively neighborhood that was fun to stroll through in the evening and observe the local nightlife. We appreciated that it was a few minutes away from the crowded, busy tourist area. We enjoyed talking with Miro & Francesco. In particular, we enjoyed the way that Mira had tastefully decorated the room to evoke the traditional style, yet with modern comforts. We would stay there again.

It is an excellent place. Very comfortable rooms. Very clean. Beatufil and in a very good area in the city center. We get the breakfast in a small patiserie just 20m from the hotel. The breakfast is basic (a cup of coffee and two pieces of pastry each). But it was nice and fresh. And it was a good value for money (but we went there in the low season). We didn`t meet the hosts, but they were always on phone for anythign we had to ask via sms. We recoment this place.

This small hotel was a wonderful place to stay in otherwise crowded Florence. The location I’d close enough to walk to all attractions, yet a bit ways from the crowds. The room was spacious and well appointed with a good sized bathroom. The breakfast at a nearby cafe was convenient and delicious. Mira, our hostess, is simply the best. She is so kind and helpful with all our needs. The square is front is lovely and historic, and full of cafes and eateries.

Francesco and Mira were wonderful and helpful owners with easy communication and many recommendations for our entire stay. At check-in we went over a map of Florence and drew out points of interest that helped up navigate the city very easily.
