We spent 3days in this amazing hotel. Big rooms, clean, comfortable beds, friendly and really hospitable owners. The view from their terrace is unique and the scenery wonderful. We went also to Elafonissos. It's an amazing place one hour away from Monemvasia but there are not good hotels there. What really worths is the beach. Caribbean sand with salty mediterranean waters. Monemvasia is one of its kind as it is an old castle, community that has been restored and it's operated by very interesting people. You can find shops, restaurants and nice traditional hotels like Ardamis, but as I have been to most of them, Ardamis is the best. Unfortunately the access to Monemvasia is impossible for people with mobility problems due to the stoned paths and the stairs...

We felt like we were walking back in time when we stepped into this lovely room in the castle walls of Monemvasia. It looked like a genuine castle room with stone arches, various levels, and even a peek into the original cistern! It is very close to the entrance so only about a five minute walk from the gate with luggage. I recommend packing just a small bag to carry on your shoulder. Steep steps are challenging with roller bags and parking was quite a walk away. But so worth it! Restaurants are wonderful, as is the hike up to the castle ruins and all the gift shops. Such a fun experience!
