this was my second stay at sandy haven and I can't begin to tell you how fabulous it was. I had the best room at the resort "111", roll out of bed and the oven is merely steps away.
the staff goes above and beyond to assure you have whatever it is that you need. andre, our bartender makes the best Pina colada ever.
if you are planning a trip to Jamaica don't pass by the sandy haven you won't regret it..

Pool and hot tub were not clean, continental breakfast was lacking everyday. Staff were friendly, rooms were properly cleaned. Many of the beach umbrellas were broken.

We stayed at the property for a week in June. Let's start with the good. SH staff is exceptional, professional, friendly, and more than the ownership deserves. They did their absolute best under the circumstances. Special shout out to Edward, Ron, Raffie, Chantal, and Keon, but the entire staff was awesome. Ownership needs to step up their game as far as property maintenance. Especially considering the price point. During our previous stays in 2017 and 2018 the property was immaculate and fresh. Today, it is worn down.
Issues with the room(s). We arrived to a room with no AC in the middle of June. One of the double sinks was not operating correctly. Once Edward, the front desk attendant, managed to resolve the issue with the AC, we discovered that while it was functioning it would not adjust. The room quickly became the artic tundra. No hot water as the hotel was waiting on a gas delivery that day. Hot water was either non existent or inconsistent throughout our stay.
Day 2. Ron was kind enough to upgrade us to an ocean front room! He was attentive to our issues and incredibly responsive.
Room upgrade. Wifi on the TV was a constant struggle when it worked. The door did not have a door knob, so opening/closing and locking the door was another struggle. The AC while functioning leaked causing a bubble in the paint that eventually exploded all over my bed. The ocean front view was blocked by unkempt trees (so glad i didn't actually pay for it).

This was my first trip to Jamaica; therefore, I have no comparisons with other hotels. My stay was also during the off-season, so I do not know what would have been different. The staff were friendly and willing to address any concerns. I'm not a pessimistic, nitpicking individual, and I did not go looking for deficiencies or for everything to be as accommodating as in the U.S. I went to Negri and Sandy Haven Resort to enjoy the experience, my friends, and have a relaxing vacation. That is exactly what I did! I hope to return.

Love the location and the staff is wonderful!
Cons...toilet didn't flush and shower was basically a trickle of water. (Friends there at same time did not have this problem)
