We have had way better stays at Bestwesterns in Texas. The one at Broussard, LA was not pleasant at all. Customer service-rude, breakfast (same everyday) and lack of clean towels-lack of them.. made it unpleasant. I recommended it, so I’m sorry I did.

Clearly an hotel in transition. The reception lobby and the public areas were a building site (admittedly a tidy one), and the rooms were clearly being upgraded. So, the good - clean, comfy bed, A/C worked fine, shower worked well and overall a reasonable price in the scheme of things. The not so good - check in was chaotic! One staff member appeared to be the only person on duty. Rooms were not ready (at 6PM, really!), other guests were complaining about missing towels etc. My room was ready but when I showered in the morning I discovered there was no shower gel in the holder. More strangely there was not a single chair in the room! One more good point I guess - but frustrating at the time - the room next to mine was apparently inhabited by someone who wanted to live in a music venue - the noise was intolerable in my room and indeed the whole corridor. The receptionist did however deal with it promptly and the music was silenced.
