Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Building should be condemned. Stopped late and just wanted a bed and a shower in the morning. Bed was terrible and they had no hot water. Let the shower run for 10 minutes never warmed up. Sink was stopped up. Door wouldn’t shut in the bathroom. Lobby smelled weird and automatic doors had to be opened by hand when leaving . Place was a dump. Only nice thing was the owners $100,000 plus Mercedes SUV out front. I’m sure they can afford it because they don’t waste money on upkeep for their hotel.

Where to even begin…I first booked on Choice App at Econolodge across the street. Upon arrival; the property looked abandoned and no signs of life anywhere. Front door was locked with no signs. Sooooo, I go across the street to Quality Inn - Warsaw I-40. Upon walking up to the front door, I notice the doors did not open completely. The first set of doors were already opened and the 2nd set (entrance to lobby) only opened about 3 feet. I see a group of individual sitting in the lobby area conversing - looked like a family meeting. One of them stands to help me and walks behind the counter. I explain what happened at Econolodge across the street and she says to me “They are open” and seemed offended when I told her there was nobody there and further explained the phone number did not work. She quickly assigned room 117 and tells me it’s down the hall. I go to my car to get my things. Upon entering the room, it smells heavily moldy and musty. I turn all of the lights on so I could see and was horrified. There were dead and alive roaches on the floor, water damage and leaking water from the ceiling, mold along the flooring, a used towel hanging behind the bathroom door and flies buzzing around the room. I returned to the front desk to check out of the hotel and asked if they inspected their rooms before giving out keys to guests. She said, yes, always. I explained what I discovered in the room and requested a refund. The employee was obnoxiously rude and said she spoke with the employee across the street at Econolodge and said she told her that she didn’t see me over there…then she said I would not be receiving a refund because she would offer me a different room. I repeated myself that I would not be staying at their location and again asked that they refund my money. I gave her the key back and asked that she print me something for check out - she refused to do so…I then asked that she contact a general manager or someone that would be able to assist me and she explained that she would be discussing it with them at a later time. When “attempting” to exit the lobby, the door swung open and the employee yells, OOOH! YOU BROKE MY DOOR!” and grabs her phone to start recording me…I was in complete shock. Honestly, don’t know how either of these locations are operating and representing the Choice Hotel brand. I am a few nights stay to reach Diamond Status this year and have not encountered ANY other property even close to this bad. It seems the two hotels are related and owned by the same people - that are sadly and poorly tarnishing the Choice Hotel brand. Upon speaking with Choice Guest Relations and explaining what happened, they tell me that they have spoken with the hotel and the staff lied about what happened - stating that they offered me a discount and that I broke their door upon exiting the property (See photos). There were multiple safety issues, including an alarm that was beeping the entire time I was there. This property should be shut

Bugs. Cigarette burn marks and stains on the linens. A manager that said it was our problem, doors propped open for short term visitors, smells were horrible and more. Terrible place!! The front desk worker was clearly high as a kite. He said it was our problem and he doesn’t issue refunds.

This experience was a result of poor due diligence on my part. Had I checked Trip Advisor FIRST I would not even been writing this because I would not have stayed here. The smell in the lobby is a combo of musk tinged with I don’t know what but it follows you to your room. We realized there was NO elevator and we had a handicapped individual with us. We had to go back and change to a bottom floor room. In the room (Room 141) water stains were on the ceiling and there was soiled/stained towels and pillowcases (I wasn’t about to find out which). There were stains on the lamps (looked like mildew stains), just eww! The toilet seat slid out from under you and can we talk about the lack of Kleenex at the sink but I’m pretty sure it’s because it had been shoved into the bathroom wall (pics provided). Something brown was all over the bathroom floor, entry area and on the bathroom walls. I had to use a wet hand towel to mop the floor it was so gross (see pic). The shower head was crusted and caked. The gym was a disaster and really a sign should have been up stating “unavailable/being renovated”because, well, just look at the pictures. As far as safety goes: We drop some of our luggage in the room and came back late that night only to realize the rooms sliding window was unlocked (on the bottom floor anyone could have crawled in). The entrance door to our room as well as the bathroom door had to be lifted then pulled to get it closed and open (if there was a fire I would be worried someone more frail would have a hard time getting out). There was what looked like construction debris outside our window and the next room down had broken glass all over the ground. I am at a loss of how they have a 96 rating and this place should be shut down until they disinfect and repair this location. This place is is a dumpster fire, inside of a runaway train, during an earthquake. NASTY, sleep in your car instead, seriously.

Room was in need of some serious maintenance lock busted on door huge water stains in ceiling outlet covers missing screws unsure how it was even staying on the wall in bathroom was over priced for the condition of room and building wouldn't have stayed but was exhausted from traveling all day
