Apart from other things , its location - by the sea , on the ramparts of the fort Aguada. Our room has a great view of the sea and the pier . The approach from the main road is a two lane road - fair amount of traffic. And it is there for last 8/10 kms. So if you are driving, could be little frustrating after a drive of about 400 kms .

Excellent hospitality, awesome views, very clean and very good food, food on property is a bit expensive but that’s expected!!

Outstanding hotel.
This is a truly amazing hotel. I have stayed a number of times and the service is outstanding. This was my honeymoon hotel back in 1990 and I continue to return. I a. A widower now but will always come back for as long as I can. You expect the best from Taj properties and that is what you get.

Didn't expect this at a Taj property
Mustiness in the room is unacceptable at a Taj property especially when it's not even the high humidity season. This instantly impacted my wife who had to go on medication
Masking it with chemical fresheners is worse.
Reaction times and understanding at the front desk of client requirement is dismal. Took me two hours to arrange a car pick up to the hotel
They recognised the issue sent me a goodwill gift of such poor quality that even the from office clerk was embarrassed to see.
Too much demand means that resources cannot keep up and quality suffers but list importantly they just move to the vlnext guest without any time capacity or desire to repair any issues that they themselves acknowledge
Not that they didn't try but loose assurances don't go too far.

Terrible experience at Fort Aguada, the hotel is dated, dirty rooms which we took pictures of but we're ignored. Had to wait for an hour to check in, then we're given a room that we did not book which was dirty with used cigarettes on the balcony, and not cleaned. then we were moved to another room we did not book. eventually 2 days (half way into our stay) they moved us to the room we booked, then the room wifi was not working. Not worth the cost, not even close to a 5* experience.
