Between visiting National Parks and spending two weeks in Colorado and Utah, we stayed at this Quality Inn and Suites in Montrose, CO. About the only thing it has going for it is that it is smack in the middle of everything in Montrose. When we arrived, we went up to our room and thought it was a nice size. But that was about it. First we tried to log into WIFI, which didn't work on any devices. I went downstairs to the front desk. They said the problem was with Choice Hotels and they gave me a phone number to call. It took 20 minutes, speaking to someone whose first language was not English to finally get connected. Then we started looking around. The computer chair at the desk was broken. One of the bedside lights was burned out. The bathroom had peeling paint on the walls and caulking coming off around the tub. Everything was out in the open--not closet, etc. That night while sleeping, the mattress was terrible and the sheets poor quality. Plus the elastic on the fitted sheets was dry rotted and the sheets popped off the corners during the night. The next morning, we went down to breakfast and there was not ONE seat open to sit and eat. So after paying for a room that offers complimentary breakfast, we ended up walking across the street where we ate at McDonald's. We shouldn't have to pay $25 extra for breakfast when it was included in our room. What made all this even worse is that the room was around $150 per night. Thank goodness we were only staying here one night. We will certainly never be returning here again. The entire hotel definitely needs a good renovating including updated bathrooms, new paint, new furniture, new mattresses, new linens, etc.

This hotel needs a deep clean throughout. I would be embarrassed to recommend staying here to anyone. The carpet had stains in our room. The phone didn’t work for some reason. The alarm clock buzzed like it was short circuiting. The entire hotel had a weird smell. I noticed another patron showing the front desk dirty his bathroom was (he cleaned it and the towel he used was black from the dirt). $200 plus tax is too much, regardless of area of country. This was a grimy $64.95 a night hotel at best.

Dirty floors in the bathroom. Dirty walls. Scraped paint. Dirty corners in the hallways. Funky smell. The woman at the front desk, Whitney, was friendly, helpful and really the only positive thing about this hohotelok, the bed was comfortable. The owner/operator seemed to glare at us every time we saw him, as if we were stealing. Pretty sure there are better places to stay in Montrose.

This is an older hotel and it needs some cleaning and maintenance. The bathroom floor was dirty, most especially in the corners. The walls near the toilet had little bits of something (?!) on them. They really need to be scrubbed! However, the sheets were clean and good quality, there were lots of pillows and the bed was comfortable. The included breakfast was a waffle maker, cereal, yogurt, apples, and interestingly chocolate twinkies and Halloween cupcakes. They also had frozen breakfast sandwiches and burritos that you could microwave. I've never seen a hotel breakfast like it.

Positive: very nice front desk people and large clean room Negative: had to ask for shampoo and soap and a light bulb. The breakfast is not hot unless you include the waffle and oat meal you make yourself.

This place is a little older, so I was willing to let a couple of stains on the carpet go, but when you add stains on the curtains, and bedspread, plus hair in the shower (I rinsed it off), I felt that I had to say something about it at check out (none of it was enough to move (rather have what I got, than risk starting over). Now for the best part! We get ready, gather all of our stuff, and open the door to the hallway, where there is a pile of linen/towels next to the door. I thought it was odd that the cleaning staff had piled up stuff by our door while waiting for us to leave. Then I realized that ALL of the doors had a pile by them! These were the clean replacements for those we had used! This was the most disgusting thing that I have ever seen in my life. The "clean" sheets that I had just slept on, had been lying on the hallway floor the morning before. I was dumbfounded! I went to talk with someone in charge - nobody there. Staff that I did discuss this with said that it was known, that they personally had talked to the owner about this. I was told that housekeeping has two carts, one with cleaning supplies, tissues, TP, etc., and the second cart has the replacement linens and towels, and that they go and drop them by rooms that are checking out. Not that it would have made a difference, but I was also told that the hallway is rarely vacuumed. And that's how it ended, no manager to talk to, no number to call, no nothing! All I have is this review (and photos), a cut and paste to TripAdvisor, and their corporate office.

We had a truly positive experience at this hotel. Ignacio was a lifesaver. We had booked through priceline. They charged our card, but when priceline paid the hotel their card was declined. Not only did Ignacio and other staff help us out, but they honored priceline price and helped us with a rend due to priceline's error. They went above and beyond. Room was super clean, pool was great and we were super happy with our stay.
