The room directly across the hall seemed to be hosting a party and was extremely noisy. The room directly adjacent to me was also noisy and the bed frame was pounding on the wall to my room. When asked to be moved, I was told that I’d have to check out and book another room. I mentioned to the front desk person that I shouldn’t be held responsible for the noise levels in the hotel. I asked if there was anyone monitoring the hotel grounds and the front desk person responded that he was monitoring but was extremely busy, and unable to move from the front desk. After much conversation, my room was moved and I was placed in a room that did not have a functioning lock. The only key card that would open the room was the one the employee held. He tried different key cards to no avail. I asked to be moved to a room with a working door lock and was told I’d have to check out and rebook. Location also has no working vending machines.I requested a refund and was told no. The manager stated that she had provided rewards points. I mentioned that I’m not interested in rewards points as I no longer wish to stay at their location. The conversation went on and got nowhere. She also stated “you’re not saying anything that’s going to change my mind about a refund”. I followed up by filing a complaint with Best Western Corporate. This was a horrible experience. In my opinion the person managing the front desk, alone and over night, was not properly trained to do so. Clearly a management issue.
