Dismal restaurant experience. The spa is good. Went to the ground floor restaurant around 6pm and was met with a waiter who said he could not accommodate me, he was stressed, overbooked, there were this table and that table and that was that. I gazed around the restaurant and it was 30% capacity max. There were 3 people sitting in an empty bar through the back so I asked if I could sit there and eat and he simply said no I’m not allowed. I sat down, looked at the drinks menu, listened to the kitchen, waiter and possibly head (chap in a suit) argue about some halloumi order then I left. The waiter was loosing it and it showed. Bit peeved off because if I’d have known I would have to venture out in the pouring rain to get dinner I’d have booked somewhere else. Recommend you book in advance or book somewhere else.

Lovely hotel and spa my wife and i are regular visitors to weekend Spas but unfortunatly this failed to meet our expectations Some minor faults within the Spa and treatments and the hotel in general itself that force me to say its overpriced for what you get for your money

The spa is absolutely first class, 10/10. Beautifully done and the staff are fabulous. Very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend the spa facilities. The meal we had afterwards was quite poor, a lot of the elements were clearly bought in rather than home cooked - which is fine but the prices are astronomical. For instance we had pavlova for dessert and the meringue was obviously bought in and was pretty horrible. I had a £20 Caesar salad and without an exaggeration there was 5 leafs of gem lettuce and half a chicken breast on the plate. My partner had a burger which was mediocre but oddly it was served on a piece of wood, I understand the aesthetic reason but it was really off putting as it’s really unhygienic and they’d also covered it in a smoke of some sort which over powered the table with a feel similar to cigarette smoke. Would return to the spa in a heart beat but I wouldn’t recommend the oak restaurant for dining sadly.

Booked an overnight spa break including afternoon Tea , dinner , breakfast , a spa treatment and access to the Spa facilities . We arrived on Sunday around midday and our experience in the SPA was fantastic . Staff were wonderful and could not have done more for us . Facilities are excellent and one of the best Spa’s we’ve been to. Afternoon tea was great and our evening meal was very good . First day was a 5 star experience . From there it went disappointingly downhill . We were upgraded to an executive room which was a nice touch . However there were so many issues with the room itself . No power socket close to a mirror for my wife to dry her hair, The bathroom was clearly designed for a race of giants with the large circular mirror fixed at a height making it impossible to see anything and the bed was like lying on concrete . A dreadful nights sleep was compounded by the room being situated next to a generator or pump for the hotel with a constant noise all night . This seemed to be an issue with this particular room (32) as the noise was not apparent in the main building. After a great day , the room and sleeping experiences were very disappointing . The staff service up to the point had been wonderful but this also fell down at breakfast the next morning. We had a very Average hot buffet breakfast available but My wife asked for some poached eggs to be cooked to order . Had to chase the waitress 20 mins later at which time it was clear that the order had not been put through. No apology , just ‘I will get it’ Finally the two ‘poached’ eggs came with one passible and one I would not have served to my Dog . burst all over the plate and swimming in water . Decided just to get out and get some food outside the hotel . Spectacular first day and spa experience ( really can’t compliment the staff at the spa enough ) ruined by a very poor hotel stay and a dreadful breakfast experience .

Stayed in this fabulous hotel for the weekend for the Tina Turner tribute night. From the moment we are arrived we were warmly welcomed, and this continued throughout our stay with your amazing staff. A smile goes a long way, We thoroughly enjoyed the Tina Turner tribute night, where we also had a 4 course meal before the show. The food through all courses was absolutely sublime, the presentation was outstanding and just perfect. It’s a long time since we have savoured a meal like that. We also ate down in the Oak restaurant, and again the food was right up there🥰. Basically can not fault this hotel at all, and would definitely return. Well Done Guys, you are a credit to the Cairndale 👌

What can I say! This place is an oasis of calm, serenity and luxury. This was my second visit and I can’t praise it highly enough. On my first visit I had the lunch option (amazing) and on this visit opted for an afternoon tea (gluten free) which was delicious. The service from every member of the staff from beginning to end is exemplary. Both the Rasul Mud experience and the 111 facial both well worth trying. As a very difficult person to please (so I’m told) and a very harsh critic I cannot recommend the Cairndale Spa highly enough. I promise you will not be disappointed!

This was for the relax and restore spa day - spa facilities are excellent as were the staff - had lunch included which was booked for 1230 - lunchtime was ok but not sure whether my starter was a hot starter as was tepid with exception of the “hot” sauce - I like spice but my mouth was on fire - was the hispy cabbage with crispy onions - Chicken & bacon sandwich with fries for main - very underwhelming - if it says crispy bacon on the menu I don’t want fatty bacon, again cold and chips were hot but greasy. After lunch thought I’d check what time we had in the spa as it was a spa day to be told that was us time up - wish we’d been informed at check in as there were still areas we had not used as thought we’d do this after lunch! Very disappointed ☹️
