I've stayed at many Wyndham locations and never not received communication. Booked via someone's laptop, expected a confirmation -as always-, didn't realize until days later that I had not received one and couldn't remember the hotel because I had browsed so many at the time. No confirmation email so assumed it didn't go through and booked elsewhere. The ONLY communication received was a survey *after* the non-stay. The GM's reply was that the confirmation page after booking is all I get. No emails. Apparently this location is owned by a franchisee, so issues are not managed by Wyndham, which I'm certain would've handled this better. I'm not sure if the GM response was policy set forth by the owner or if this is just poor leadership, but this is not customer service. I've always had a decent-to-great experience at Wyndham/Days inn locations, but this interaction left a sour taste. From a Biz Ops perspective, there's something to be said about a business that focuses only* on not losing money claiming whatever [lack of] action "is the best they can do under the circumstances", and makes no effort to: a) provide good service/create a positive experience that often results in reviews and referrals for more revenue, b) strive for repeat business be it at their location or within the chain, also financially beneficial. Then again, scrolling through reviews, although I'm out the cost of a night's stay, I lucked out not going seeing how apparently their property care is on par with their customer care.

La Cucaracha
As soon as we walked into the room, there were several roaches on the wall. The beds were hard as a rock and the pillows were crusty and musty smelling like 100 people have used them and they still hadn't been cleaned. Wash cloth turned yellow when it was wet.

Horrible beyond words. We booked here for Derby. Not exactly cheap at over $200/night. Arrived to an area where the neighboring hotel looked abandoned. Gutted and per other reviews here, it's been that way a long while. Quite the creepy vibe. Arrived at the property, and zero cars in lot. Zero people in the lobby. Waited for a clerk, heard not a sound. Clerk finally came in, and then took an inordinate amount of time to find our reservation. He informed us we had booked a handicapped room. We certainly did not. Asked for another, and was told it was impossible due to Derby. Asked what was different about this room vs a regular but he couldn't tell us. Maybe very new on the job as I imagine turnover is frequent. We went to our room and OMG. Horrible beyond words. We were greeted with a series of carpet stains trailing into the room. Dirt? Perhaps animal excrement? Blood? Human excrement? No clue. But beyond shameful they'd even try to rent this space. We then spotted stains on the comforter, pillow cases, even the tub had an inexplicable red discoloration. Gross. We didnt unpack, just took out cells and laptops to find another location. As we did, we tried to avoid touching or sitting as the furniture and things felt gritty and looked rank. Of course, not helped by the only sunlight was from 1 small window looking out to the abandoned wreckage next door. Went back to the lobby to inform them we couldn't accept these accommodations. Got the "no refunds/Derby policy" line. Offered to pay for the first night, but was told no....they were keeing our money for all 4 nights. I wasn't going to get into it with a clerk. Asked for the manager, or the name of the owners, managenent company, etc. He pleaded to know nothing, he just worked the desk. I'm now working with the corporate office and will update you on that as it unfolds. In the meantime, if you are still reading this and considering rolling the dice on this location to save a little money vs the prices in Louisville, don't! Especially if you have wife and kids. It may exceed just being filthy, might be unhealthy. Debating calling the state for an inspection. I'm now writing this from a room in Louisville costing me 5x and every penny is worth it! I'd have spent 10x to escape that nightmare. PS tried to add photos, but it seems blocked. Will try again when I write an update. Stay tuned.

Just slightly sketchy area. Would not take my wife and kids. Breakfast was coffee, packaged oats, bread/bagel, granola bar, apples. Has an abandoned hotel next door which looks terrible.
