Overnight stop! Convenient to highway. Clean rooms and general areas. Breakfast was typical for Comfort Inn - eggs were a bit runny. Hotel was quiet - we wanted a room with a pull out couch and it was comfortable to sleep on.

Thought I'd read this was a recently renovated hotel. Come to find out it wasn't. The room looked old and worn, had a musty smell, there was mold in the bathroom, and it was hard to tell if the brown carpet was clean. Customer service upon check-in was okay. But front desk service the next night was a whole different story. The person was so rude. It is primarily for this reason I won't ever stay there again or recommend to anyone else.

Everything about this place is very good from parking to breakfast. We checked-in with no problem went to the room and found everything was in good shape. The room had a micro-fridge, hair drier, the necessary amenities, hot shower, good WiFi and cable. The beds had four pillows and comfortable mattress. Their breakfast consisted of the normal continental breakfast with eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy and waffles. they also had a business center in the lobby. one more thing, with our discount it was under a 100 bux for the two of us.

This hotel was a great spot for a nights rest. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast included with the room was good. Our room had a balcony facing the Blue Ridge Mountains, a great spot to enjoy a coffee

DO NOT STAY THERE if you need a mobility accessible bathroom (total knee and hip replacements; need high toilet with bars around it and inside of tub)! It does not exist (see pictures). Also, room 207 has bed bugs (left with large welts on my face, neck, etc). I reported both to front desk and left message for manager Crystal but I have not rec'd a call from her. I called ChoiceHotels to report the issues and was offered 8000 points to compensate/resolve but I declined and asked for at least 12000 which is the requirement to book with points at that location.

A disappointment. The A/C in our room put out so much moisture that all our clothes — even in the open suitcases — were damp/soggy. We came back to the hotel later in the day (second day) to find a note on the door that due to short staffing they were unable to attend to our room. It was up to us to take out garbage, find someone to provide some clean towels (front desk was often unattended), etc. I don’t mind fending for myself, but don’t expect to pay a ‘Choice Hotel’ price for this lack of service. The ice maker continually leaked into the hallway. The staff that were working did the best they could, but they are clearly under appreciated and trying to make the best effort they can.

We needed a place to crash, and while we would have loved a nicer place, this suited our needs for sleep. The sheets and blankets were clean (but the sheet was too small! and the mattress pad was dirty), the carpet was new and clean, the rest is old and tired. This includes windows, curtains, ceiling, paint, etc. Unfortunately, we didn't have time for breakfast (we saw others said it was good). If you just need to sleep, it's okay.

Comfort Inn & Suites is the hotel that we elect to stay most of the time. This did not disappoint us. The hotel was in good shape. The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

BEWARE WEARY TRAVELERS... This place is a black eye for Choice Hotels. There are not only extreme health issues but safety issues as well. Unfortunately we were forced to do an extended stay due to location and our unfortunate situation. If you have respitory issues be warned the rooms are saturated with mildew in the carpets due to improper water extraction from carpet cleaning. Management is aware and after over a month of water logged carpets they determined fans only on the ground floor was sufficient means to address this horrific issue. After being forced to moved 3x I can vouch for this and the mold in each room. There is also mold and water damage clearly visible in the hallway from various water leaks not being properly addressed.(Pictures Attached) The hotel owner also owns the storage units located adjacent to the property. There is not one but two separate men living in units. General Manager and staff are aware and allow them to utilize hotel facilities. The continuous foot traffic to the units by employees through out the day is extremely questionable. While we were there a car was stripped of its catalytic converter and allowed to remain in the park lot for a month. (Picture Attached) These are not only the major issues that this black eye has going against them. We finally ended up moving to the Howard Johnson (highly recommended) a few miles away after trying to address these issues with the General Mananger. We were denied extending our stay and was told to find different accommodations until our situation was resolved. This was highly unacceptable conflict resolution done to protect the wrong doings of management and staff. We have been Choice Hotel Gold members for 30yrs. Never have we encounter a property under their umbrella like this one.

I enjoyed signing the no-smoking policy on check-in while the lobby smelled like cigarette smoke. The room was unable to maintain cool temperature for sleeping despite cranking the AC down to 62. The workout room wasn’t open at 630 AM despite being posted that it opens at 6 AM. In the morning there was no staff anywhere to be found. It’s cheap to stay and you get what you pay for. At least the room was clean.
