Room was nice and clean. The staff at the bar/restaurant were great. They were nice and attentive. Loved having fresh water with fruit available in the lobby.

I can’t believe I paid $475 for one night at this hotel. There is nothing about it that justifies that price.
Pros
* Nice views upon request
* Mountain decor
* Inviting lobby
* Free parking
* Perfect location for walking around downtown Golden
* Two ways to control your climate in the room
* USB charging ports
* Gym is nicely equipped. I found everything I needed. But it is very cramped and a pin was missing from the weight machine. I thought about telling the front desk so they could replace it but at this point I was tired of dealing with them.
Cons
* Mini fridges in rooms don’t have freezer sections but front desk will put your ice packs etc in their freezer for you
* No valet or bell hop so plan to schlep your own stuff. Not sure if they even have luggage carts.
* I couldn’t find the Wi-Fi information anywhere so I had to go back down to the front desk.
* Bed was too hard and stiff. I woke up sore.
* Bar was closed for a private event
* TV only showed hotel info. When I selected the guide to see what was playing it reverted back to the hotel info. The next morning I let them know so they could fix it for the next guest. The girl at the front desk proceeded to tell me what I was doing wrong. I was supposed to press a random number on the remote to bring up the channel guide. Really? Who would know that? I suggested they communicate this to guests. She sarcastically said she would as if I were the most annoying person on the planet.

The hotel is centrally located in Golden Colorado and adjacent to the downtown canal. Very friendly and helpful staff.
My only knock, and it is not against the Golden, has to do with the shuttle service they advised us to use. Simply Way overpriced, $275 quote for a round trip, not responsive and just plain rude. We did not use him and obtained round-trip Lyft service for under $70. So, if you see the red shuttle service card in their lobby, avoid him like the plague. Hopefully the Golden will remove his card from their lobby.
But despite this hiccup, stay at the Golden.

Was very convenient location and parking was easy. Not a lot of effort from the staff to make you comfortable, felt like more of a nuisance.
I feel Like our last few rooms we have purchased via *******, the hotel has put us right off the lobby. Loud in the morning.

The property is unique and is in a great location. I feel the nightly rate is overpriced. The next morning after we checked out, a front desk employee called to hunt down our credit card for a $15 parking fee. That was a bit ridiculous since we had already checked out and paid for our room.

Great location and restaurant in the hotel was amazing; very walkable to all the shops and the river. Great outdoor spaces and the rooms were very spacious. It's an older hotel but has been nicely updated and the service and staff were great! Highly recommend and would stay here again. I would probably live here if they would let me!
