Hotel reception staff not very welcoming, only one lift working. Phone wasn’t working. Room very tired, housekeeping didn’t tidy our room, they left beds unmade, moved dirty towels from bathroom and left dumped on the bed and moved rubbish from bathroom and left in middle of bedroom floor. Ceilings have mould on and furniture very tired and worn. No breakfast facilities available and extortionate parking costs.

I don't write many reviews, but after a stay there, I want to let people know that this feels like a shabby, worn hotel — chipped paint, missing tiles in elevator, stained carpets and furniture, etc. Not what I have come to expect from a Holiday Inn (and a $155 room rate). Musty smell. Good location in downtown Raleigh. I found the people who worked there to be pleasant, and I slept well, but next time I will examine other options.

This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. In addition to the staff being rude and the elevators being out of service, one of the beds in our room was covered with urine soaked linens. It was clear the bedding had not been washed as the entire room smelled of urine. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stayed at this location on 12/7/24. Woke up at 1240ish in the morning to someone attempting to enter my room with a key. I called to the front desk to report and the staff member stats “What’s up man” for 1 sir I’m a female. He goes to stat “I’m sorry you had a visitor in the system it shows cleaned”. Then at check out the manager who was very nasty tell me “You can call guest services if you have a problem” Literally Had To Sleep Like This

I wish I would have read recent reviews before booking. I'm not sure how this hotel has 3 1/2 stars. Here were things that could be better: - Very noisy, even on the 14th floor. There are trains that rumble by, garbage trucks that pick up trash at 3 am, emergency vehicle sirens, and even partiers that sound like they are right outside your window. Bring earplugs. - Only 1 operable elevator for the entire hotel means you will wait quite a while. - "Contintental breakfast" is some packaged pastries, yogurt, oatmeal, fruit and those boiled eggs in the package. You can heat up a bagel or toast in the toaster. Coffee and hot water but no juice. Also a sign that said "please limit to 2 items." Give me a break. - The room temperature was very difficult to regulate using the in-room a/c unit. It was either freezing or boiling. - A general dirty feeling throughout the room and hotel, and an odd scent that they tried to cover up but just made it worse :/ Here are things that were ok: - The staff was very nice. I felt bad for them because I'm sure they deal with complaints all day long. They should look for jobs where they don't have to deal with unhappy people all the time, because they were very helpful. - The shower water pressure was ok. - The bed wasn't terrible. - The hotel is convenient if you are attending a conference at the convention center. - The price is cheaper than most of the other hotels around (makes sense).

Just don’t. I don’t leave a lot of reviews, but I just feel like I should warn future travelers not to stay here. The entire hotel smelled like gas and sewage. The bathrooms were ridiculously small and outdated. The hotel was very noisy from outside street noise and the breakfast was really bad.

Room 716 was fine for a week while working in the 2024 campaign. Clean, Keurig, basic toiletries, good wi-fi, hotish shower, comfortable bed (with no bedbugs). It’s true that the room is sparce, just one elevator for 20 floors, the complimentary breakfast is a joke – the large dining room suggests there once was a breakfast that consisted of more than small pre-packaged muffins, coffee and water -- the bathtub scarred, the “Serve yourself” drinks outrageous and the front desk unfriendly. But the neighborhood is leafy and quiet and there are two good restaurants next door (Taverna Agora and Second Empire) and a good seafood a bit farther – 42nd Street Oyster Bar. I got what I paid for but my more discerning wife would have had us out of here in minutes.
