The room 205 had no outlets nor the phone will work, the keys all the systems are not working correctly, I had to go down to get the clerk, to open, so they said they are all like that, then, they changed me from rooms to the 207 room next door. There was BLACK MOLD in the bathroom and stains in the room. The clerk (Johnathan) will not answer the phone my son in law try to call 7 times and no one will answer , when I got down to see why they wont answer, he was in the lobby chairs looking at things on his phone. The elevator was discussing with nastiness on the floor, I will never recommend this hotel. I will contact Polk county health department and the local news. I should not have been charged at all. I only stayed 2 days, one day in one room the other in the other room with the mold that I saw when I went to take a shower and I did not, I had to ware a mask to use the toilet that night with my daughter. She suffers from asthma. This hotel should be shut down. I am calling the BBB to file a formal complain as well. To make it worse, when I got the email to give them my reviews and I wrote all this, next day the only thing I got was an email, from the manager David Ortiz saying they apologize but that was it. I didn't went to the breakfast because I was already afraid of what I was going to get in my food too! There is no ICE MAKERS on the floors, there is only one on the first floor, when I then go down, there was 2 men sleeping in the lobby charging their phones which they look like homeless people. I did not felt secure in this hotel at all. I will never go to any of them again!

So terrific I don’t know where to start. First of all our door never works, we stayed one night and hour outside of our room. So imagine last in the night you just can’t get in your room. Manager was on the phone letting his employee alone. The aircond doesn’t work well et the breakfast was awful.

I was helping a friend move her grandchildren that she recently won custody. It was a very stressful time and extremely messy. I had booked a Choice hotel for 8/6 & 8/7. Things happened and I needed to stay with my friend. Even though the room was non refundable the hotel wished me well and canceled the hotel. I then booked 8/7 for Palm Bay and was supposed to book this hotel in Davenport for 8/8. Got everything squared away, stayed in Palm Bay, woke up to find that I had booked both hotels for 8/7. I called this hotel in Davenport to try and explain the General Manager Dave Ortiz was not in. I spoke to Choice Hotels and the rep told me it was at the General Managers discretion to switch the nights. (I was not looking for a refund) I called FIVE more times to reach him. Each time the main number rang excessively and I was told he wasn't in. I sent an email to Mr. Ortiz explaining what happened, asked him to call me or email. By 3:00 and on my 6th call, I spoke with him. He was rude, said the hotels policy was to not refund or change dates. I said since it is up to the general manager's discretion it is YOUR policy. He said that's right. Mr. Ortiz said the only thing he could do was offer a discounted room. I said I already paid for a room that I couldn't use. He hung up. I have been a member of Choice hotels since 2008. This man does not need to be a manager let alone a General Manager and by the reviews of this hotel he does not care about customer loyalty.

There was bed bugs in my bed and nothing was done about it. I asked for another room and was informed to sleep in the next bed because nothing can be done at 2:15am. I packed my things and put them in the car. I started asking other guests in the lobby if they had bed bugs. The guy at the desk told me I had to leave with that nonsense. I asked for a manager. He informed me he was the manager. He proceeded to treat me as if I did something wrong. I continue to ask other guest. I asked his name and he wouldn’t give me his name. He then took me to another room and asked me to check it. I told him it’s hard to tell until you go to sleep or get bitten but I will stay. He continued with poor customer service like it came with me or it wasn’t a bed bug. He said they have never had a complaint about bed bugs. He also mentioned if I stay don’t come to the desk and find something else to complain about. I just left altogether . You can enlarge the picture included

Was in town for business and booked this hotel for the weekend. I had a late check in I went to my room. I always check the beds and pillows for bed bug’s etc and the bathroom to make sure everything is clean. It all appeared good. Then next morning I found a roach! Killed it and informed the front desk,he said he would let the housekeeper know. I was out for most of the day got back to find the dead roach still there and 2 new bugs! My room was changed, that room also had roaches! Go back to front desk and she told me she can’t keep changing my room. I advised it either that or I would like my money back! So she handed me a key card for another room for me to check. That room was free from bugs so I took that. Housekeeping doesn’t really clean because there was crumbs on the bed & cheeto’s on the floor. I was too tired to go back down. But I wouldn’t stay here again. They need pest control ASAP & better housekeepers! Rooms 419 & 305 had the roaches!!! The location is good just sucks they’re not clean!

Needed a quick place to stay for a football tournament and it was horrible from the time I walked in to the time I left. I couldn’t even stay a whole night. Each room the front desk “employee” tried to check me in to had roaches, a dirty tub, or both. I was told the tubs are brown because of “Florida water”. He also told me he would only show me a few room options and then I would have to leave since I didn’t want to sleep with roaches. I booked with my Amex so I called them to see how to cancel the booking and get a refund (booked with Amex travel), the agent called the property to confirm the guy working gave her a fake name and told her to “ask the bugs if they were alive”. Total piece of work. Ended up searching for a new hotel at 1am. Fortunately, Dave the manager approved a refund the next day.

I would only recommend this place if you really need to save money. The staff are nice, but the rooms are just depressing. There is generally a musty smell everywhere, and the carpets need to be replaced and updated. It's too bad, this hotel could have real potential. The furniture and woodwork are decent, the rooms are a decent size, and I actually slept well there, but the old brown carpets and paint really bring down the experience. I can't specify what it is exactly, but it just does not feel good to be there. It is depressing. Maybe the combination of things, but the smell and all brown effect seem a big part of it. I did not want to hang out in the room at all, I would rather spend all of my time somewhere else and only come back to the room to change clothes, shower, or sleep. I switched hotels half way through my stay., which I hear many people want to do. When I first arrived to the hotel, checked in and saw the room, I immediately regretted booking it. It's right next to the highway and some industrial truck parking. It's just not nice. The person working the desk is very nice, it's not his fault. The background story is that the hotel will be demolished in a few years due to highway expansion, so no one wants to bother with a much-needed renovation. Sounds like they're just trying to keep some money coming in until it closes. The breakfast is all on flimsy Styrofoam, just feels low quality. The options are cereal and a waffle maker, bagels/bread, and low fat yogurt. If you do eat here, learn to use the waffle maker, it was decent. As for coffee, it's too strong. Fill your cup half with coffee and the other half with hot water. Else it might be tough on your stomach. If you want to switch but can't find anything else, or just need to save money, you'll probably be ok, I slept well there. Go hang out in Champions Gate (the Four Corners Tavern was a great place to spend time at night for me). This hotel could work if you're the kind of person who only goes to the room to sleep and will be out all the time and wants to save money. But if you have high standards and want a nice room to hang out in and feel good, this is not the place, spend a bit more and go to the Holiday Inn or somewhere else.
