Charged an extra fee of $12.83 on my card that was not disclosed anywhere and said it was for room amenities. I need this refunded from my card or I will dispute it and never stay at a Choice hotel again. I need a response back on why I was charged this extra fee when the total said it was $12.83 less.

The room is in need of a deep clean, there was debris in the corners of the room; a smashed lampshade on a table; the shower gel was located next to the "closet" where you hang clothes, not in the bathroom; the "TV Guide" in a plexiglass stand was filthy. the exhaust fan for the bathroom was over the sink and very noisy; and the blankets on the beds were incredibly thin.

First I will say that the staff were polite and helpful. But the room itself reeked of smoke and when we opened the mini-fridge, it still had the garbage in it that the last occupants left. A wine bottle, open drink and open yogurt. Floors appeared clean, but when we looked under the bed before leaving to make sure we had everything, there was garbage and dirt underneath.
I am sensitive to smoke, so I spent the whole night snuffling and wheezing. I never write critical reviews, but I was disappointed in the experience for the price point. On the positive side, the area is safe, and right next to a restaurant.
