I like supporting "local" when I can. This place is way different than corporate chain-style lodging venues. It has character. Friendly hosts and a nice facility with a "vintage" feel - hey, after all it's part of their name! Although my room was on the small side, it had everything I needed and nothing I didn't - it was clean, nicely decorated in a rustic style that was just plain comfy. In an area like Okoboji, who spends a lot of time in a motel room anyway? It's centrally located to just about any place you'd want to visit in the lakes area. Bike rentals on-site and a bar and grill next door with outdoor seating and live music Friday and Saturday nights during the summer. No complaints here! First time there but I'd absolutely stay again.

Everything was well spaced out. Lots of games, grills, firepits and quiet. The only thing we didn't like is when the air-conditioning kicked in there was an odor.

It was quiet and staff was very friendly. Check-in was easy and quick. I was thrilled to be able to plug in my EV car to charge overnight, even if was only into a 110 outlet - that’s more than 99% of the rest of the Lakes area offers!
Bed was comfortable.

Nicely remodeled; nice pool, great outdoor area with fire pits and games. Great value for the cost. There wasn’t an accessible ice machine which would have been nice. Overall, would return!!

Our ice is available at the front desk and found that a necessary adjustment as 2 people would load up their coolers and everyone else would be wishing they had an ice cube for that rum and coke they were looking forward to making upon arrival! We do ask our guests to get ice from the gas station to fill up coolers. We can't wait to have you back at the Block when you are in Okoboji!! It was a trip back to the 1960s. It is a small Motel from the 1960s. The rooms are small by today’s standards but have been upgraded. Not fancy but clean. The pool is clean. There are games for the kids. Fire rings to use with firewood provided. Grills to cook out if you want. Rental bicycles on site and a block from the lake

This was our first time staying and we will be back. The hotel was well maintained and the employees were very friendly. The kids enjoyed the bikes on property and the breakfast was great to start our morning.
