A remarkable imposition for an alleged 5-star establishment. ## Service Deficiencies - **Room Service**: Ordered meat was substituted with fish – availability was reportedly insufficient - **Non-functional internet** in the room - **Power outages** during the stay - **Garden maintenance at 6:00 AM** directly outside my villa – I was the sole guest at the resort - **Taxi service**: 4-hour wait, followed by cancellation. Independent arrangements were necessary ## Billing Irregularities at Check-out Upon check-out, I identified an **unconsumed item of 175,000 TZS (59.91 EUR)** on my invoice. This was removed without comment upon objection. Following proper check-out and full payment, security denied my departure. Stated reason: the suite remained unpaid. This was demonstrably false – I had completed check-out and settled my account in full. ## Communication with Dipen P. – Purported Resort Manager Rather than an apology for this evident error, I was subjected to hostile demands for additional payment via telephone. - My **American Express transaction record** was rejected - A **Swahili translation** was demanded – an absurd requirement - The tone throughout remained aggressive and disrespectful To finally leave the property, I paid **a second time** under this pressure. American Express subsequently refunded the amount without hesitation – a clear indication of how this matter should be assessed. **The Notable Personnel Issue**: Brief research revealed that said Dipen P., who presented himself to me as the hotel manager and person responsible for the resort, is in fact **Financial Controller of a glass manufacturing facility in Tanzania**. This individual addressed me – a paying guest of an alleged 5-star resort – in the manner one might reprimand a factory worker. Subsequent communication was conducted through his assistant, while he continued to present himself as responsible for the resort. That a factory controller without discernible hospitality experience assumes the role of hotel manager and "manages" guests in this fashion explains not only the catastrophic service quality, but raises fundamental questions about the legitimacy of this entire operation. ## Conclusion The denial of departure despite complete payment, combined with demands for additional payment based on false claims, constitutes in my assessment the offenses of **coercion** and **attempted fraud** – both recognized as criminal acts under international law. The duplicate charge was immediately recognized as inappropriate by American Express and refunded. The subsequent communication was in no way commensurate with the standards of a 5-star resort. **My urgent recommendation**:

Outstandingly peaceful, true to name (Amani = peace). Stunning beach. Lovely chalets. Perfect pool. Fabulous fruity breakfast. Hidden gem as i was only guest for 3 whole days the week before Christmas. Restaurant and room staff excellent and noce to see trainees. Front desk distinctly uninspired and unhelpful but that was only minor gap in otherwise perfectly peaceful stay.

Beautiful Resort to spend our good family time. 1hour 30 minutes travel from Dar city and then 2 nights here in paradise. The staff and the management go above and beyond. We had the beach front cottage (8 and 9), absolutely amazing. Beautiful views, and able to watch the sunrise in the mornings. The food was excellent, something for everyone what we needed. Stunning views, lovely staff and the huge bathroom and huge luxurious rooms was perfect. The food option of A La Carte was varied which was very good. The swimming pool was clean and the attendants’sorted towels and beds on a daily basis. Recommend to anyone to visit, I'm sure we will be back. Thank you for a lovely stay ❤️

Great property with great views. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The washrooms are also very nice with bathtubs. The swimming pool is also very nice with great views. The staff was very courteous and attentive. The food was good with special mention to wonderful Pizza. The beach is clean and is very well taken care. The only downside is the approach road. The road is literally very difficult to drive on specially if it rains for the cars which are not 4 wheel drives. One have to take help of hotel staff who are kind enough to help, to reach and leave the hotel if you are using a 2 wheel drive vehicle.

There is not one complaint that I can think of. The reservation right down to the food and location, beaches and rooms, service and serenity were to the T. I would recommend this beautiful cozy hidden little haven any day. We didn't want to leave to come home again. The staff made sure we were comfortable and the new Indian cook catered for all our different palates from the adults to the kids. They have a whole bookshelf and games to choose from as well. Special thanks to Hannintone who made sure we had a smooth getaway. We can't wait to visit again. Soon!

I recently enjoyed a two-day stay at the resort (December 25th-26th, 2024) with my family. We found the rooms to be spacious and appreciated the option of adding an extra bed for our child at an additional charge. The air conditioning was effective, and the room service was prompt and efficient. The staff were courteous and attentive throughout our stay. A particular highlight was the delicious pizza, which was generously topped with oregano and chili flakes – a rare find in many restaurants within the city. I highly recommend Amani Resort to families seeking a peaceful and relaxing getaway.

This place is truly a hidden gem! The seafront rooms are spacious and offer breathtaking views, plus the beach has crystal clear water. The infinity pool and beach loungers are lovely. However, the restaurant and service staff could use some professional training, as the food was just okay and the staff seemed a bit off. I will definitely return soon. Thank you!

This place is really amazing. Whenever I have family in town we come here. The beach is beautiful and expansive - perfect for long walks and swimming when the tide is high. Nice pool and large clean rooms. And the service is outstanding with friendly staff and management whenever needed. Will continue to come back!
