LaQuinta Carlsbad
Our stay at LaQuinta in Carlsbad was quite satisfactory and comfortable. The location is convenient to the National Park. The hotel fronts a busy, noisy highway with lots of trucks, so be sure to request a room in the back to minimize the noise. The breakfast selection was good, but not great. Portions of the grout in our shower were pretty nasty looking, but overall, the hotel was clean and updated.

I checked in at 4:30, the clerk said that the building's water was out but promised it would be back on in an hour. As I had other plans, I got the key, then went out for a few hours. I returned at 9PM expecting to take a shower. But the water was still off. I went down to reception where there were 2 other guests and no receptionist. After a few minutes of chatting with the other guests, I learned that the water had been off for more than a day and was promised to have been turned back on at noon of the day before.
Finally the desk clerk came out and said to the other guest that we can give you a 15% discount for tonight's stay. I laughed at her and she went back into the office to talk to her manager.
I immediately left the hotel with a promise of a refund.
The manager was hiding in the back room the whole time leaving the poor desk clerk (this situation isn't her fault) to deal with the customers. There were no plumbers in sight or expectation that they would show up.

糟糕的深夜体验。
凌晨两点左右入住。我们去房间想洗澡。结果发现淋浴间很脏,玻璃门上还有水渍,门外还有黏糊糊的东西。我通知前台,我们去检查另外两个房间,每个房间都有同样的问题:淋浴间很脏。我们联系了酒店经理,但经理没有提供任何解决方案。我要求退款后就离开了。我们很累,想洗澡,于是就沿着街道去了另一家酒店。
噩梦般的经历
我们带着两岁的儿子在路上旅行。前台经理明知在寒冬腊月,酒店没有暖气和热水,还是帮我们办理了入住。我们安顿好房间,正想给儿子洗澡,却发现没有热水,后来才发现房间里的暖气也坏了。我们问了经理,经理说他们出了问题,不得不关掉暖气和热水。如果她知道这个问题,为什么不跟我们说?她粗鲁无礼地要求我们在晚上11点退房,却没有为造成的不便道歉。我们不得不另找一家酒店。这真是糟糕透顶的体验。很多客人也经历过同样的经历。
