We had a great time at Sundial! We did a day pass twice on vacation. The amenities were top notch! The service was top notch as well! They had fun activities for the kids and the adults. The woman who was in charge of the activities was great and all had fun with her. We had one small issue with noseeums which was new to us and they let us come back another day and gave us some tips for the bugs. Colleen was fantastic and did a great job making sure we were happy!

Sundial Resort is simply a 2 Star hotel with a great location. Rooms are OK but not worthy of the premium price. Management thinks they are giving you a JW Mariott experience but it is hardly that. Food is passable as standard hotel fare, and bar service is questionable to spotty. Best thing about it are the access to the best pickleball on the Island. The hotel has none of the local charm you expect on Sanibel.

I’ll start with the positives! Great location. Very clean! We rented the 3 bedroom 2 bath condo for 3 couples for Valentine’s weekend. Our condo was clean but had a very noisy AC unit in the primary bedroom. We complained day 1 and it never got repaired (we were there 3 nights). I feel like it’s a great resort for families with young kids but not a romantic couples weekend. Steer clear of the restaurant by the pool! It took over an hour to get our food! And the food was fair at best! The pickleball courts were amazing! And Lexxe ran the 9-11am open play incredibly! It was organized and she was super nice! My kids are all adults so we probably wouldn’t go back to Sundial but I think if you’re a young family it’s great!

Beautiful space! We loved the condo! The ocean view was breathtaking! It has a view of the beautifully lush courtyard, and you see and hear the ocean from the condo lanai. Stunning!! Our condo was very clean, and the showers are gorgeous. Pricing is great for all you get; the amenities available are many, something for everyone! The restaurants prepare delicious and beautiful food, and the bartenders at Turtle’s are the best in the biz. We will definitely return. Can’t wait!!

Our unit,a 3 bedroom 2 bath with a beach view, was excellent. Spacious and well located and had covered parking (away from crowds in main resort area). Our only problem with the unit was the dishwasher which never worked. Every time we turned it on, it tripped the breaker. (Engineering arrived our 4the day, discovered the breaker was tripped), Then left thinking they had fixed things. That evening night, I reset the breaker 6 times in 15 minutes, but it kept popping off, so we continued doing dishes in the sink. There is clearly a significant problem with electrical or water supply somewhere with unit R306. Individual service providers at Rec Shack were friendly and helpful. My issue is with the coordination, thoroughness, and knowledge at the front desk. I was never called or texted once our rooms were ready, despite them telling me that would happen. The credit card info I had provided when I first checked in was not in the system when I came to see if I could get into the room. Our “welcome packet” did not have all the information I was later told should have been in it. Our key packet did not have the wifi name or password. I called front desk to get the info, but was asked to leave a voice message which was never returned. I walked down to front desk next morning and the gentleman did not have his reading glasses and could not read the wifi info in their big binder and that may be why the password he wrote was incorrect. I later walked down to inquire about password again and housekeeping and supplies —I needed a trash bag so I could take trash out by the morning of day 3.—I was told housekeeping was every 3rd day but we had seen no one by 3 pm. I stopped a maintenance person in the parking area, he brought me trash bags. In total,I was down to the front desk more than 7 times in 4 days, with basic questions I would have expected to see in a welcome packet. No I did not go back to the Sundial website to check FAQ’s…but with no wifi that was not possible. I dealt with 4 different staff, one of whom I later learned was a manager and received different answers to the same question about housekeeping and got no response on my first request about problems with the dishwasher. Kudos to Jaimie at the front desk who wrote my issues down, patiently answered what she could, promised to send engineers up about the dishwasher——they arrived within 20 minutes of my talking with her. Hooray. I also listened to to hear deal with an unhappy customer in front of me in the line. She was equally patient and helpful to him.

We’ve never been to Sanibel before so this was all new to us. Looking online, most of the reviews were good. We had booked a full gulf view. Upon checking in, Matthew showed us on the map the location of our room. It was not a full gulf view. Part of our view was obstructed by another building and we overlook a parking lot. The room was assigned as a full gulf view. After much discussion with Terry, the front office manager, he went to the room with us to see if we were satisfied. Sadly there were no other rooms available. We paid for a full view and told him that we would like to have our room price adjusted to reflect the partial view rate. Terry agreed to take care of the adjustment. He also gave us breakfast vouchers to enjoy the daily breakfast buffet. The buffet was nice with made to order omelets. Our room B301 was clean and updated with all the amenities you would expect for a condominium. I’m surprised that a small fraction of the units are managed by Sundial and the rest are privately owned. Online, it looks as though Sundial manages the entire property. The pool was never crowded nor was the beach. It was nice, but there was a lot of seaweed on the shore as well as many shells. Sundial does add a nice touch by giving a cute seashell bag for you in your unit as a keepsake. The drinks by the pool were good and relatively inexpensive. We enjoyed the free bikes one day and rode around the island. Upon check out, we noticed that our room rate was not adjusted as promised. After multiple calls when we returned home, my husband finally had to speak to the general manager to take care of the adjustment. I would return only if we are given what we paid for. You be the judge.

A gorgeous resort and a truly spectacular place to unwind and restore. It has always been a favorite escape. The staff is phenomenal—warm, attentive, and extremely helpful. Breakfast and dinner at the resort were outstanding. Our place was gorgeous! Could not recommend it highly enough!
