1 star hotel 5 star staff

I cannot say enough about the staff at this hotel, they were helpful, kind, informative and professional. The hotel was undergoing remodel and i had a room needing remodel. There were issues with the hotel appearing clean, no breakfast other than yogurt and cereal. If it were not for the staff i would give 1 star but they have 5 star staff

We booked this place last minute because of the price, The lady at the front desk was very nice, she told me that it was 20$ to check in early, said they were under new management and redoing the whole hotel. When we got to the room we noticed a lot to start with. The rooms were really dated. The one we got smelled really clean, they must have just serviced it. It looks like they already started redoing the hotel. It was quite though and they had really good dish tv. Overall, the staff was very nice and professional. I only come to Albany once a year but I will definitely stay next year to see what they have done to it.

The only thing that was a positive is the free wifi and working tv. Everything else was a disaster. The room was filthy. Stains and dust everywhere from the pillows to the floor to the ceilings, not to mention mold in the bathroom. If it wasn’t for me being on a budget I would have immediately got another hotel. Never again. Please staff make sure your rooms are actually clean if you are reading this or maybe you just don’t care because it caters to a certain audience which I was unaware of till I actually saw it in person

I was unsure about this hotel, but the front desk let me know know that they had recently changed ownership. They have started a continental breakfast and looks like they have redone the landscaping and started painting the building. It looks as if they are starting a new remodel job. This will be nice, since the room I had seems outdated. I look forward to staying here in the future.

This Hotel needs to SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATLEY, THIS IS A HOORRRRIBLE HOTEL TO STAY AT, the pictures they have on their website are not real, I had to change rooms 3 times, (all the other hotels were booked up), the owner’s should be ashamed of themselves, I see they have a score of 81 at the front desk, I don’t know when they received that score, this hotel should have received a -00000. I took pictures of the Nastiness, The Hallway was dark and creepy, the microwave didn’t work because the knobs were missing, and the TV would not work, the Toilets were dirty and the mirrors look like they tried to clean them with a nasty greasy towel, if it was attempted to be cleaned at all. So when I went down to ask for some kind of assistance ,the (African American) man at the desk, his response was very Sloooooow and every time I told him about a issue, he would stroke his chin like he was pondering on what to do, he acted like he was under the influence of something, I asked him for another cable box to hookup, he told me to unplug it and plug it back in, we did that several times, and still nothing, he then told me that if that box doesn’t work, then the rest of the extra boxes don’t work, then I told him about the knobs missing on the microwave, he gave me some plyers, (It seems as though they put him there just to have someone at the front desk at night, he acted like he doesn’t know about anything) I went and bought my own sheets and towels, and cleaning products to just make it through the night, THANK GOD we only had to stay overnight, and I don’t know why they have a option for a smoking room or non smoking, the whole hotel smells like smoke ,****, old and moldy. We couldn’t wait until it was morning, we hurried up and left before checkout. I have stayed at other Rodeway Hotels and they were not bad like this, I am so surprised that Choice Hotels they let this particular location have use their name, as many complaints and bad reviews that it’s gotten, it’s a disgrace, I WILL NOT STAY HERE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
